Fuel trim can be a valuable diagnostic tool - Eastern Manufacturing
monitoring it around town, stop and go, on and off throttle, high speed lift off and pedal pegged to get the most out of it. Short term at least, 30 minutes. It should be more of a one or two time thing just to verify. In an naturally aspirated car I would only monitor coolant and tranny temp, voltage, oil temp or pressure.
With so many lc and lx running around with the original fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and other injection stuff it makes sense to look at it every once in a while just to see. All the 100 LC's and lx's should have replaced all that at least once by now at the ten year mark. Even the narrow band o2 sensors that last longer than the widebands. It's all going to fail at some point. I'm not into failure. IMHO trim is just another thing to look at to help out.
