ok ! in that case your best bet is to talk to the clubs ! Upper Canada Cruisers and True North Toyota landcruisers ( tnt ) tnt is out of Ottawa and they have connections as far as Trenton. Crushers will know what to do but if it's too far contact the clubs for help !

I am the new owner of a 1997 LX450. I was steered in the direction of T-LEX in Markham. Apparently the fella was with Toyota for over 25 years and has branched out on his own.. Has been described as "notoriously honest" by more than one industry person. I took my rig there for a valve cover job. Also took my 1999 4 Runner there recently. Seems very reliable. His specialty is Toyota and LEXus… Hense the name. Located on Woodbine just south of 407. Taking my LX450 back there this week..

I took my Lx450 to T-lex a few days ago, they seem honest. I wouldn't call them landcruiser experts but it was nice to see an 80 landcruiser in their shop that they were finishing up. I need to order a set of OME shocks and springs, tried to find a local supplier with no luck. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Member of SONTT but sometimes you need a quick repair so it's nice to have a shop. I'll check out T-Lex.

cherto, I'm pretty sure CT Motorsports in Mississauga is an Old Man Emu dealer. They are just North of the airport. I haven't had any work done by them but have spoken with them on the phone and they seem to know what they are doing.

York Mills and DVP. Got recommended by a guy when I was waiting in line at the Service Ontario trying to register his fourth Land Cruiser.

I am wondering that myself..
I have come across toyotapartsdirect.ca online store, but have not ordered anything, the prices seem to be a bit better than the dealership.
Does anybody know if any toyota dealer is giving dicsounts to TLCA members? In the US, apparently many dealers give 20-25% discounts.
Best

I have been taking my fleet (five of them) to Beatty Automotive Services in Barrie for the past 15 years. He also works on another guy's two Cruisers. Not that it's Cruiser related, but he also does all the work on my V10 TDI - so he certainly can handle pretty well anything odd. Name is Scott (705) 737 - 5385. For those of you in the western part of the GTA - there's also a guy named Jay in Hamilton who has owned several Cruisers for the past 20 years. He's a full time mechanic with the city, so he only does these on the side. Not sure if he's looking for a lot more work right now as he's got two or three long term projects on the go. Shoot me a PM if you want his number.

Recently ordered a bunch of stuff from Toyotaparts.ca. Best Canadian online prices and cheap shipping. I believe (don't quote me) that is related to Wharncliffe Toyota in London … It's only online orders and all parts have been shipped fast. I just picked up some AC parts that seemed to be about 60$ cheaped than i could find anywhere else. Fast shipping and well packaged .

And of course Yan (user name Akella) can find OEM stuff at great prices. PM him for details

Been working on my '94 for the last couple years, Cyrious has helped me out. Amazing fabricators, they have a lot of experience from the ground up racing rally, drift and offroad. Pat, Dan, Brad and the crew do things right and treat your vehicle like theirs. They get super busy during race season so book in advance

Hey wondering if anyone has any updates to this list? In toronto and have an lx470 and an fzj80 that need some work. Nit-picky things like windshield moulding mounting that require some LC experience, but not as specific as a diesel rebuild etc.

thanks,

Hi, i also bought an lx470 recently, and i have been using 2 mechanics on the west side toronto. they are not truck only mechanics but they might be a good option.

At this moment they are looking at my left cvs

AutoSonic and Melo automotive, both on dundas. they both Portuguese, going mostly to autosonic now. If something is not perfect but it can just a year or more, they will tell me i can do it later If i want.

I have been unable to solve a low-vacuum, ignition and carb issue and need someone in the GTA who knows FJ petrol motors specifically F155...I live in King City and saw that old reference to CrewFab, dont seem to be around. I see you there Crushers, but the truck is only driveable for a short distance and you are >250kms away ;-(

I will try the number to Beatty tomorrow, but thats a few years ago now...any F motor magicians within 50 kms of Toronto? Yeah I know the motor pics are partially assembled, she is all together now but check the last page here to see my troubles...Low vacuum idle

THanks!

Hope the guys here can help.

If not, Maybe look on a private Facebook land cruiser group and ask someone there.
There is a few fj owners there.

I get my lx470 checked at autosonic, in downtown Toronto. They are not fj specialists, but there's some older mechanics there from Portugal, so they could have an idea of what to look at.

Good luck

Thanks guys.
Called Scott at Beatty in Barrie, unfortunately he is shut/shutting down. Sounds like an awesome guy, tried disgnosing over the phone and super knowledgable.

Cyrious Garageworks has gotten a lot of LCs at the shop recently.

Here was one of their restorations

I haven't been but I got info passed along

Lisgar Motor on Geary has a mechanic named Manny.

I guess he grew up driving cruisers and knows a bit about them

Damn, just read this, i live around the corner, know of a friend that works beside and also had his jeep checked there

I will take mines there next time

Hey folks, just wanted to bump this thread as it seems like these places have closed down. I'll be doing a road-trip cross-country to the GTA and back and want to have my HDJ81 checked out while I'm there, so any recommendations are welcome. I'll also try and join the FB group as it sounds pretty active.

The guys posted some recomendations on the fb group, most of them in southern Ontario, and one up north of barrie I believe
