I've designed some EGR blockoff plates for 1HD-FTs that folks can use for removing their EGR systems before they soot up their lovely JDM imports. I've written up instructions in this thread.

A set comes with laser-cut aluminum blockoff plates for the intake pipe, and laser-cut stainless steel for the exhaust.

I'll sell them at $50/set; delivery in <2 weeks. If you're interested, please DM me with an address and Paypal or Venmo address. If I get a lot of interest and people are flexible around shipping times, I could potentially do a larger group buy to bring down the cost - please also DM or post in this thread if you're interested in this option. I'm not really sure how much demand is out there!

Thanks for making this. I am interested and want to order.
Question: Can I install the blockoff plate and still have the EGR there so that it still looks stock (if that makes sense)?

Thanks in advance.

BTW, mine is 1HD-FT

Sandwiching the EGR blockoff plate between the intake pipe and the EGR assembly would probably be visible to someone looking for it like an experienced smog inspector, as one plate is 0.25" and I think folks should double up and do 0.5".

I'm 50/50 on whether that it would fit. The exhaust manifold EGR blockoff plate adds some height, and the valve assembly is pretty rigid, so I'm not sure it would be able to get on the intake pipe studs. (The intake pipe EGR blockoff plates also add some in that dimension such that getting the EGR valve assembly on the exhaust manifold would probably also be tricky).

Thank you for clarifying. I will just remove it then.
I will PM you. Thanks

I’ll keep the group buy option open for another two weeks (until Feb 5) to see who is interested in it! I think the first price break I can offer is if there are >= 5 people interested, which would be $40/set.

I'll take a set as long they work on an FTE?
I have 100 series with a FTE landing tmrw.
I don’t think these will fit a FTE. The FTE EGR system looks pretty different at a glance.

That said, I would love to have someone try it there are any volunteers! Alternatively I could try to make FTE ones if there is more interest.

If all goes well at the port tmrw I will have both engines side by side this weekend. Will let you know what differences I see
Yes please let me know! I would love pictures.

I was able to DM you!

Alrighty folks, there's still time to join this group buy but I'm going to close orders for the group buy by end of day tomorrow.

They should arrive at folks' doorsteps in <3 weeks shipped via USPS. I've got enough interest to get 5 orders together which is enough for me to drop the price to $40/ea for the group buy.

Blockoff plates will still be available at $50/ea moving forward.

Deff interested in this
I DM'd you to confirm.

Glad to hear it folks!! Would love to see photos once they’re installed. 😁

A couple other people don’t have them in the mail yet. My goal is to get them out Wednesday. Work has gotten busy this week otherwise all of them would already be out.

Also I have confirmed these are not 1HD-FTE compatible, but it shouldn’t be hard to make a different design that is.

Just order one EGR gasket and use as a template. Boom!

I verified the current design doesn’t work against some FTE EGR gaskets that are sitting on my table! Just need to make and test the new design. I have gotten very little interest so it’s not high priority at the moment!

Thank you @kenavt
I have received my order for the block off plates for my 1HDFT.
I was going to try the bypass vacuum lines first...but I have soaked the bolts and nutes in PB blaster.
I tried cracking the nuts and the top 12mm cracked easy (loosen).
The bottom two 14mm one started to slip a little. I soaked it some more. Went to toghten slightly, then back off (loosen), then they came off.

At first, it was so hard to get the EGR removed, then saw that I forgot the support bolt at the bottom. (After I had been prying at the top two on the intake side). After I got the support bolt out, I was able to remove the EGR easily.

Thanks again! Beautiful product.
I got the plates installed and took it for a test drive. Works good!
