All three of those trucks could have done the whole thing with no damage. But that would have been a boring show=bad TV.

Thanks for sharing. That made me laugh. Glad the chevy won. But did you see the nice crusier in the studio? Why didn't they use that?:p

I saw that episode last week, and it made me laugh cause its so ridiculous.

I like how the bronco bust an axle, but yet he spins a 4 wheel rooster tail in the dunes at 27 & 28 mins into the video.

I'll stick to the originals on BBC!

Because that was a 100K dollar TLC Icon. Their budget was 5grand :)

Good entertainment. As long as you realize that it's TV and nothing is real, you will enjoy them much more.:hillbilly:

Sorry...I hit the damn edit button again instead of the quote button. Smack me will ya!

I'm pretty sure the C-clip came out of the axle. It should be an 8.8 and they are kind of known for that. Don't know why, but the stupid things seem to develop a lot more end play than they should, then when you abuse them, they tend to come out in pieces.

I too saw the rooster tails from the rear tires on the sand dunes, so broken splines aren't likely, unless they were just at the right angle that the tires threw the sand to look like rooster tails.

I was kind of shocked that the drag race was such a stomping with the bronco winning. I've always thought that the TBI chevy's felt just as strong as the 351's ever did. Unless it was a TBI 305, then that would make sense.

I'm also thinking that they had to stop for fuel somewhere, I can't imagine all 3 rigs making it 400 miles on one tank, especially not the way they were driving.

So why was he still running the trail fix when he blew that rear tire? I get it he didn't actually open the diff and re-install the C-Clip.

That's what I'm thinking. I imagine the C-clip got ground up or stuck on the magnet and they drove it till it blew. Kinda dumb though. If you went to all the trouble to do the trail fix, why not fix the diff? Or at least split some tube and make a roller on that trail fix so it didn't eat the sidewalls off. Also, very dumb to leave the spare tire behind when you know you have a 30 mile trip to make.

Overall, I was entertained, but it sure goes to show you how much you can abuse certain things and they stay in one piece. He was hammering the crap out of that Jeep on the waterfall and didn't break anything in the front diff. No t shocked that the bronco snapped a rear axle with the way he was beating on it. All the weight in the Bronco/Blazer/Ramchargers is on the a$$ so there's a lot of stress on that little axle shaft with him bouncing on those rocks like that.

If you want to see those guys abuse some rigs, watch the Alaska episode from last year. This last episode was tame in comparison.

That was the one where they were shadowed by a Toyota Truck right?
I loved that one. One of my best friends in HS had a blue step side 4X4 Chevy PU. We beat that thing up pretty good too.

Yep. I had a '78 Chevy stepside with a 4spd, I really miss that truck. Mine was brown though and I babied it.

I had that episode saved for about 8 months. I re-recorded it again last month so I could watch it again.

I was pretty surprised at how much abuse those trucks took before they broke. Not surprised at all to see the Ford spit a center drive shaft though, I think they had 1310 joints in them and I"m pretty sure he bounced it off a rock a few times before it let go.
