Top / Bezel / Wheel Color

For two hours I've been researching this, and my head is spinning. I can't find a definitive answer on what color white the top / bezel / wheels would need to be painted on my 76.

I know the wheels were grey from the factory on my year, but I want to go white.

Here are the paint codes...I'm assuming I go with 031 White?

My main question is, is that paint code for all components, or the body only???

I hear you, I too have spent way too much time trying to figure it out. I wrote a few restoration shops and Also got no response, hope you have better luck

Everything I have read says it should be Cygnus White (T-12). I think it looks the best and that is what I will be using to paint my rig. Hope that helps- Don

You not doing a concours restoration so who cares what colors you use. Just use the colors that you'll think look good. Most people use Cygnus white for the top and bezel.

Correct, but as something as basic as the paint colors, I want to stay true...

I guess it's between T12 and 031 White.

I believe they went from Cygnus white to 031 white in 1975 (and, of course, I'm driving a white mid-year 75). I've decided I'm going with cygnus for the body, and most likely a "brighter" white fr wheels and Hardtop. Bezel will stay black. I think toyota actually has a color called "bright white" on their modern trucks that I'll probably go with.

I asked the question in about 10 places and got about 10 different answers. Finally I just found a couple of other white FJ40's on MUD that I liked, and asked the owners what they did directly.
