Abiquiu is close to me so I took a trip out there this past sunday to check out what real rockcrawling is all about. We ran The Webb, and the whole .6 miles took us 4 hours. I didn't shift out of low-low all day, it was great. Here are some pics and vids:

The first big ledge:

Proof I actually climbed it:

Hope you guys enjoy.

fun stuff!! i love the idea/performance of buggies, but hate the idea of having to trailer anywhere... i assume he trailered the f-toy?

nice example of why one needs sliders too btw... ;) i cringed at that sound knowing i don't have any yet.

where was this trail?! I wanna go!

It's just outside Abiquiu NM, about 30min north of Espanola.

Shawn were you on the abiquiu run a few years ago? We stopped at the top of that trail and walked down some of it. It's right off Hwy 84, literally a minute from pavement IIRC, shortly after you crest the hill approaching the reservoir. I've offered to spot/shotgun before and the offer's still good. ;p

Maybe one day my crawler will crawl instead of take up space in the back yard and I can go too. :frown: Of course that trail will be closed by then too...

I wasn't, but now I recall the talk of it. I'm up for going up there this summer.

holy shiicke.

nope, that's part of why I don't wheel much: it's my dd (dog driver), don't wanna be breaking stuff for fun. breaking myself usta be okay, til I had to be 110% for work... :whoops:

sumbody please esplain to this stocker how that rig made it up: continued friction on the rear wheel we couldn't see?

that said: sliders are the next mod for my lifted rig, if only so I have somewhere to stand to load up my roofrack/get in the truck. :grinpimp:

I am definitely up for another Abiquiu trip this summer. I know how to get through the trail without pushing the drivers door in 6" (there are 2 lines tword the end).

We should probably go sometime next month or early June before it gets too hot. I'm finally putting in 5.29 gears, so I'll be out of crawling ability for a few weeks, but should be ready by mid May.
