I found that after I decided that dents weren't an issue wheeling became much
more fun and relaxing.

Tell me about it!!! wheelin the 40 is so much more enjoyable than the fjcruiser for that fact, well along with not having to worry about braking things like, cv axles, steering racks, tie rod ends, cv axles,,,,oh and did I mention CV AXLES :D

New power steering pump today.

Took the 40 to the carb guy for a quick tune, hooked up the hand throttle, tube bending this weekend, gotta finish the cage. Rear springover will have to wait till after FG.

You wheeled it without a cage? Brave soul.

So I have an SM465 question for some of you guys. I'm setting up a SM465 to LC 3 speed case using a classic cruiser style adapter. This is the one where you have to drill and tap the rear output shaft to hold the gear on the back.

Anyway I had a buddy of mine take the SM465 to his machinist friend to do the work. I guess they had a problem with the bolt I supplied with was a 9/16 1 1/2" thread. The bolt they used is 5/8 1 3/4" long. Anyone think I will run into an issue taking out this additional material from the output shaft?
