Hey I recognize that plywood floor!

Check your fuel lines too, and other rubber components, fuel will eat em up over time.

Yeah... still feel bad about the floor thing:eek:
Drained the fuel when I stored it, but left the tank full. Silicone sprayed all the rubber too, everything is in great shape for an old bike.

Not Cruiser related, but it is wrenching...

'81 Suzuki GS650E I stopped riding it when I bought the Valkyrie nine years ago.
Been sitting in the barn nice and dry all this time. I did prep it for storage and glad I did, it almost idles on nine year old gas! And the battery is still good!
Time to resurrect it and sell it. Cleaned the tank, little rust, yeah! Soaked and rebuilt the carbs. Ordered four new intakes and o-rings. Lubed the cables. Adjusted the clutch and chain. Hope to get it back together next weekend and weather permitting, go for a ride.

Nice. Lets butcher it.

:)

PM me with a price...I may know of someone looking.

No- not me. I am broke.

I did take the XL500 thumper out for a stomp the other day before we got snow. Ran well.

Not for me.. for a kid I work with. Nice guy. I do not need any more projects/temptations.

Although...back half it, weld on a CB750 hardtail (they fit with some work, so I hear), springer solo seat and knock an inch or so out of the forks....clubmans and inverted levers.....I am thinking chocolate brown and black with satin black rims and chrome twisties...

Jeez- VTcruiser60 is going to be busy prepping stuff for Albee to use his wifes kiln to powdercoat...

hmmmmm that sounds like it would make a great first bike.

Shame what the divorce would cost me though.

I hear you Dan. I keep looking at it while it's stripped down and my mind won't stop.:hmm: You! Are Not helping:D

Glad you were able to get the one lunger out to breath for a bit, nothing beats that first ride after winter.

I did take the GS down the street a couple of times, but it had issues. See pic.

It is a great first bike. Has a fuel gauge that's very accurate, a gear indicator, adjustable rear shock dampers, air adjustable front shocks and the turn signals hi-lo beam are one switch. Takes all the guess work out of it. Decided to finally get my license after I bought this one

$650? That's in my price range:hmm: I was planning on getting my license this summer.

Interstate battery back at the place that sold it to me, trying to get them to finish all of the required steps before they replace it.... a bit frustrating but I'm not dropping a $100 on a new battery until I get my due from Interstate.

Fusable links in hand.... mine do look a bit messed up, will try the carb cleaner thing first. But can't do anything till I have a good battery in there.
