Got some work time in today. The wheel spacers that I ordered
came in yesterday. I installed them per instructions, torqued to 90 ft/lbs
with Locktite on the nuts.

Bette helped bleed the brakes and I adjusted the rears.
4 wheel disks are the balls!

Went to Keene and went to the local steel shop.
picked up a 44" long piece of 2x4 tube, 1/4" wall.
I had wanted to get 3/16ths but they didn't have a piece
long enough. Charged me $20! I was pleased with that.
Went home and started working on the bumper. Going to
use D rings that I have laying around and use the stock
brackets to mount it to the frame.
Have also started working on the nose guard.

Want to wheel bad but it's still a bit snowy here!
The trails aren't close to being open.
Here's my back yard, still over a foot!

lane thats crazy i have not seen snow for 3 weeks
did some wrenching today too wired up 2 hella super tone horns, wow they are loud:D and helped kyle put on a "new to him" front bumper. Tonight im going to setup kyles lock right and install a solid spacer

Latest work, shock hoop from Dr Custom Werx. Only got the drivers side on today.
Needed to build a relay rod to run from the 60 series box to the tierod.
Bought a 60 relay rod from Cruiserparts.net and drove up yesterday to pick it up.
(20 minute drive) Bought some 3/4" rod from the local hardware store. Cut the relay
rod and my old BudBuilt rod in half. measured the 3/4 so that with the TRE's screwed all the way in
I'll have 1" of space left. Drilled 6, 1/2" holes on both rods. Beveled the ends of both
rods. slide the 3/4 into the 60 rod and welded up the rosettes. Flipped it over and pounded it
into the BudBuilt. Welded up the holes then the joint between the 2.
Now I have a solid rod except for the ends where the TRE's go. Cut the shock tower off
the pass. side and hope to get the hoop on that side tomorrow.

Tub mod

I'm really liking how this guy shortened his tub up.
Keep leafs in the back, build a short flatbed, then I wouldn't be smashing rear
corners anymore.
Picture050.jpg

except it's not road legal

But if you made a tube bed like the minitrucks use that cover the rear wheels
you could get away with it.

been slowly working on the lv. well Wilma keeps throwing things at me but thats ok.
ps pump went the day after I picked up my new winch and subwoofer . so new ps pump has been installed the winch got fit in as well as the stereo finished up.

i was trying to get it all done before i leave tonight for 3 weeks TAD to Hawaii, and won't have time when I get back. while I am gone the lv is going to foxfab to get some sliders.

i keep getting the wiring more and more straightened out. my goal is to make it look like cruiser nerd's wiring :)

well here are some super poser shots of the new winch installed. the amsteel blue winch line had not shown up yet in the mail so the wire cable is still in there. but that will get changed out when I get back.

Todays project was to trim the bottom of the front fender
up so that it would meet where I trimmed the rocker panel
to.
Normally I'd just hack it off and be done with it but something came
over me and I decided to at least try and make it look good.
Figured out how much it needed to be shortened, made 2 cuts,
one to keep the factory bottom edge and the other to make up
the total distance.
Tacked the scrap piece to the underside of the fender and will lay
the factory edge on top of it butting up to the rest of the fender.
The scrap piece should help minimize any burn-thru on the but weld.
The fender is 16 ga and I'm still practicing on sheet metal.
Of course the spool of wire that came with the MIG ran out so that will
have to wait until I get to AirGas.
Cut the Passenger side slider off and did the cut on that rocker.

Put the fenders back on the truck after shortening them up.
Tried hammering the dents out of the pass. fender using a hammer and
block of wood for a dolly. Still dented but not a bad as it was.
Had smashed the turn signal housing and lense when I dented the fender
so repaired that too.
Started to add some diagonal bracing to my cage, got 2 pieces in and have to make up
some gussets to finish that.
Will probably get started taking the front axle apart this week so I can put
in a locker and Longs. (thanks Gary)

I'm getting wheeling fever!

cool lane what are you putting in for a front locker?

i to have been getting that wheeling itch, i know what your going threw:D

Another LockRite. Price was good and I haven't
had any troubles with the one in the rearend.
Someday when I'm rich I try for an ARB.
