Well I have finally gotten around to fixing the exhaust leak I have had on my 88 fj62 for 9 years. The guy that did the original rams horn headers apparently did not know how to torque bolts and the intake exhaust gasket blew out right after leaving his garage. Without another vehicle I had to drive mine noise and all.
I had to change the alternator, while I was in there I decided to change the intake exhaust manifold gasket, and of course I might as well desmog the old lady. But my logic says, hey it is all apart go ahead and change the TPS, fuel injectors, and the O2 sensors. Well truth be told I was already planning on changing the O2 sensors and the TPS.
When I pulled the fuel rail I broke 2 injectors... ugh, but they do have 312k on them if the PO did not replaced them years ago (which I doubt they did since I had a stumble/skip at idle since I bought it in 2000...)
So my question is should I go back to the stock exhaust manifold or re-install the rams horn headers? I have read that the headers do not give much performance improvement, and not having driven a comparison I honestly do not know... so I am fishing for opinions.
