He's a cool dog and the wife and kids love him. I'm looking to get another German Shepherd. I love those dogs, and they only chew on half as many kids as pitbulls. He won't be chopped, I want a really mean one bred in someone's trailer park backyard, between the the moonshine still and tub of cooking meth.

Here you go, how about one like this!!!!

BTW, when I had my Shephard nuetered, I jokingly asked my vet about nuticles. I then told her that I just wanted to get one, but a really large one. It took her about 30 seconds to figure out I was joking.

if he/ she is a pure bread dog i wouldn't nueter them. My sister jsut got a huskey pure bread and he is wild but she wont neuter himbecause someday she can have him bread with a pure bread female and she could make money off of it. But if you don't want ot bread im sure it would ease the stress more off the dog and the owner. lol . if ya know what i mean.

Just because you can get to dogs of the same breed to fxxx, doesn't mean you should go about breeding them. If you do not know what genitic issues specific to the lines you are breeding are, are not looking at what traits in the dogs you are looking to propogate or eliminate, as well as a plethera of other factors, you should not be breeding dogs. Your sister can sell drugs to make money also, but that doesn't make it right either.

I hate the idea of the goverment getting further involved in our lives, but breeding of dogs and cats really needs to be controlled. Backyard breeders and puppy mills need to be outlawed and the penalties need to be stiff for their violation.

that's what all the puppy psychiatrists say :bounce:

Our dog was altered at 4 mos when still squatting. Amazingly lifting his leg came naturally. He was a good protector. He also still tried the best he could with the female dogs. I have to wonder who needs the psychiatrist? If your dog for breeding that is one thing, but if he is not why discount the benefits of altering. Ego?

Thanks for all the info. We don't plan on breeding him even though he is a purebred Cairn Terrier and has a great disposition and personality.

Accident's with females would be rare if never, since we live in New York, he never is out on his own nor out of site of us or the walker.

Although he is humping everything in site right now.

I guess I'll just order them replacement nads. :D

That hit the nail on the head. I could not agree more. If you think it is a quick buck. Do your homework. Many breeders make little or no money after the expenses of doing it properly. Most do it because they are obsessed with the breed and it is just an expensive hobby for them.
Cheers,
Sean

Macneill you better nueter that thing before he hooks up with one of the rats in your pad.

i was pokin fun at the "less of a dog comment", sounded like an impotence help group or something.

You'd really be suprised by how many people think a dog is just not the same when he's cut. From my experience is that many male dog owners feel that fido would be "less of a dog with out his boys". Its just what I have experienced. My $.02 is that if your concerned regarding your male dog and surgery, spend some extra money and make sure he has the proper pain medication. You would want it, rigth?
