Looking at different wheels and was wondering what opinions were on forged vs cast wheels. Is it worth the extra money? If given the option to have the same wheel forged or not forged, which would be sufficient for daily driver and light to medium trail use?

What, no replies in over 2 weeks? IMHO, the stock OEM cast rim on a DD 80 are more than adequate. Now, if you're doing stuff like this:

Forged rims are the way to go. One of the other benefits is the generally lower weight of the forged rim, offsetting the increased weight of AT/MT's.

HTH.

A low pressure or flow formed cast wheel from a reputable company is perfectly fine. The main advantage of forged wheels is lower weight, but that usually comes with a significant cost increase.
