Hi!

Land Cruiser's fog lamps struggle from mud flying directly from wheel to the back side of the fog lamp. So, after few years fog lamps are dirty inside.

How to protect it?

They don't survive taking the impacts of debris on the road.

I replaced mine with a new bumper.

Easiest mod - remove the fogs - useless anyway

Remove them from the bumper. Remove bulb, and rubber vent tube. Fill with DISTILLED water and shake. Set out in sun to dry and reinstall. Fog lights are generally permasealed, which required immense heat and prying.

Is anyone running aftermarket fogs in the stock bumper?

There isn't any decent aftermarket fog lights. Other than HID's or a projector retrofit the stock fogs remain useless and generally turn into fish bowls first sight of water crossing.

Any experience with the Depo fog lights on ebay? My fogs need replacing and I'm keeping the stock bumper on the truck.

Which hid kit would you recommend for them?

There are different types of Depo foglights
21220118LUE left
21220118RUE right
are the same as original - poor mud and water protection included

As for me I dont want to remove the fogs - I use em as a day light, in our country you should drive with light even in day time.

I don't have experience with the 100 specific fog lights, however I do have experience with other Depo models and they are generally on par with OEM quality, sometimes a little less. They are the highest quality aftermarket assembly available for the LC (80 and 100 Series).

As for the HID Kit, I would go with a 35W, 3K, or 3700K setup. Fog lights generally produce a lot of glare, and I mean a lot. HID's should not be ran in halogen fog light housings due to glare (HID fogs produce more glare than HID low beams). I ran a 35W HID ballast off my OEM wiring with no relay harness (Morimoto). I'm not sure if other HID kits will run off the OEM wiring, seems to be a case by case of "they work", "they don't work". I would give it a shot without a harness and then go from there.

Maybe I should just find some of these little grills to take the place of the fogs and get some real lights to mount above the bumper. Anyone know where to find these?

Good idea!
Part numbers are 52128-60030 left, 52127-60030 right, but I'm not completely shure they are like on your photo. Described as "COVER, FRONT BUMPER HOLE".

But I still need a solution for fog light protection :(

Go to your local hardware store, pick up some thin rubber sheets, and have the :princess: wrap it like a Christmas gift back there. Any type of durable material will work.

Hey thanks for the part numbers. I wonder if US dealers can order these?
