Yeah, getting about 12-16 mpg in mine. 12 around town using it as a family vehicle, up to 17 on the highway packed for camping...

Not sure what towing would do to that considering the 4 speed auto.

That's actually better than I thought it would be. Not cheap though.

12-16 doesn't seem that good.

Last highway run I did with my lifted, loaded, 40 year old, 4700 lb+, V8, worn carbed, 40... I got 20 mpg. I usually see 13-15 around town, and 17+ highway.

That's pretty good for a 350 conversion! I bet the 3.7 in the back helped a lot?

Seller doesn't give much detail in the ad either. Any idea on mileage and year?

I prefer the look of the Land Cruiser anyhow!

Yeah, that was bugging me to. I have no idea on the mileage and year. I'm guessing it probably has high miles for them not to mention it.

I like the Land Cruiser better too. But looking in the US (they didn't come to Canada afaik), I'm surprised they still command a fairly high price. So if I ever got one, I'd probably just buy a LX470 locally.

For now I'll just live with 100whp (if that...).

3.70s, 33s, a lot of tinkering with the timing, and a light foot, all help.
@50 MPH, it's only spinning about 2k, so it seems pretty happy.

Yeah, I picked up an '01 LC in the States last summer. Not exactly cheap, but better than the alternative of a new full-sized SUV here in Canada.

I'm at 131k miles (only 3500 of those are mine), and still happy with the purchase. Mind you, nothing's needed fixing yet either!

Just wondering how it will do if I move back to Ontario this summer. Winters are tough on vehicles there...

Has a SF rear axle, but it appears to have begun life as a 45. I claim the Hood Spear as a finders fee ;)

It's funny, that's been on used cow for several months, and the ad has "evolved"

Started out having a "rebuilt" tub, then a week later it was changed to "galvanized" and then a while later it was "aluminum tub"

Took about a month...and leads one to believe the owner doesn't really know much about it.

other than that it "won't last long at this price..."

Well, it's hard to tell the difference between stock steel, galvanized steel, and Aluminum.

If it was a deal, it'd be long gone.
