@OTBT : I'm not sure how your B/3B repair adventures are going; but thought I'd post this here as another option for getting your rig on the road again

Very cool, I saw that one too. If time and money weren’t considerations, I’d stretch my 40 into an extra cab 45 and mount that camper on the back. Still haven’t won a lottery so I’ll just keep at what I’ve been doing.

I’ve already got a fold down queen sized bed in the other rig, so I’ll continue building the 40 to wheel the island’s tight trails. Once it has tow bar mounts, I can tow it behind a diesel to a base camp and then wheel the trails. It’ll likely work better anyway for the island anyway.

Every multi use rig is always a compromise I’ve yet to see a vehicle that doesn’t have trade offs… especially for island wheeling.

I have a Warn remote if anyone needed it to go with… $20 if it works. I’ve never tested it. Less if it needs TLC

How hard could it be… go for it. :grinpimp:

I asked the guy, and these trucks are $11000usd. They have really low km and were very well maintained by japanese forces, golden oil etc apparently. Compared to cruiser prices that is a good price! I'd rather have it then a similar cost domestic pickup too. If anyone knows how to insure military vehicles for the road, please let me know.

What the hell, if you figure this out put me down for one as well maybe we can get a deal

Honestly, how is it any different than other things we see on the road like: Military Pinzgauer, Iltis, Hummer, Gwagen, Unimog, etc.... Just gotta ask one of those owners how they insure their vehicle.

You just need to find the right insurance agent. I bought my 101 trailer in Berta years ago and plated it there. I tried here at a couple places to register it in BC with no success. Our former next door neighbour noticed the plate one day and said to take it to her to have it registered in BC. ICBC doesn't make it easy to find in their system for exotic vehicles, so finding the right person that knows where to look then you're good!
Bring in a couple with @stevebradford, I'd like seeing those around.

Sort of digressing now, but that cab over truck is technically a Megacruiser. It's a BXD30. The ones people are more familiar with are the BXD10 and BXD20. Where the BXD10/20 are sort of a Toyota 'Hummer', I suppose you could think of the BXD30 as a Toyota 'Unimog', lol. Neat to learn about this stuff if nothing else.

The soft top would have to go. Here is a picture someone trying to solve that problem:

I’m thinking drop a sexy aluminum Grumman mail truck body on it, BEAUTIFUL! Might be as tall as a house but there’s no weight up high on those and you could stand inside!
