Was thinking of picking this one up as 15BFTE swap candidate, but it's just too far, and the tow will make it less of a deal for me. But maybe someone up that way would be interested (Chemainus area).

Rent a car trailer and trailer it home. It’ll cost a fraction of towing it.

You're welcome to my trailer if you like.

Thanks lots man; really appreciated. I think I'm going to hold off on that particular truck for a few other reasons too though. So really the distance is more excuse than anything. :meh:

Fair enough… I’ve got a 16,000 lb hitch if you change your mind. I’ve not wired in the brake controller I’ve got new in a box… if only there were someone who could figure that one out ;)

Actually it’s super easy… especially since my trailer light module is powered.

Thanks man! I can help you figure out your brake controller sometime if you like.

I appreciate the offer, but time is the issue. The hardest part about installing the controller will be deciding where on the large flat console to mount it… explaining where to hook it up to the ambulance junction blocks would take longer than connecting it.

I haven’t wired it up yet because I don’t have a trailer… much less one with brakes. So far I’ve just rented a UHaul trailer with surge brakes when I’ve needed one. The 5x12 enclosed trailer was barely noticeable behind my rig… not quite forget it was there… but close.

Nice little Hilux. 5L diesel - so not much power, but simple and cheap to maintain I guess.

The drivers seat looks especially worn for 179k. I’d question if that number is correct. For 18k I’d want to be sure.

I destroyed my works vans seat in 40,000k but I spend 8 hours a day driving in one block circles at less than 5kmh looking for parking. Also wrecked the motor in less than 40,000. At 7,000k a spark plug quit but the dealer didn’t have an opening to look at it for two weeks. I needed to work so I kept driving it with a complete miss in one cylinder till they could look at it. I had a max speed of 80k barely, a nasty shake and stinking like rotting kelp when I flogged it up the highway trying to get some speed. After that it drank approximately a litre of oil for every 2000k. That’s only one of the times it was in for service in its short life. Dodge pro master is the second worst vehicle I ever drove. Fleet vehicles, I don’t get a choice. i took it in to a oil change place once at 5,000k after the previous oil change and it was low with no oil on the dip stick due to the oil consumption issue. Fleet wouldn't even pay for it to be topped up much less for an oil change that they determine is a minimum of every 12,000k. Told them over the phone that’s fine with me I will see how much further it can go. They relented and let me top it up with almost 4 litres of oil.. and that’s how I drove it for the rest of its miserable life. When I could smell a really hot unhappy motor I knew it was time to top up the oil again.

My point is... I forget.. yeah lots of things have gone on out there!
