First post here.. be gentle! :)

My friend owns Planet Auto Repair & Muffler Service (Alex=owner)
(shameless plug :) but, his shop does really good honest work. Has done everything to my 60 since it has been stock-pics in sig)

A customer of his has purchased an 80 (with a Vortec!) from TLC down south. He will be driving it up from LA and directly dropping it off at my buddies shop:

http://tlc4x4.com/2000/Sales/StockList/stock.html

The new owner of this vehicle has mentioned wanting to make some upgrades (Man-a-Fre bumpers, etc..) so, my buddy gave me a ring. I provided some suggestions and am now looking to you all for suggestions.

What would be the best upgrades in order of importance or necessity?

(Mind you, I don't think he plans to beat on this thing but, if he does it needs to be ready)

Here are some suggestions I came up with:

- Already has the stock lockers

- Slee front bumper (add Warn M10000)
- Slee sliders
- Slee rear bumper (dual swing out - spare & what on the other side?)

- OME lift (what kind and how heavy?)
- 33's of some sort

hannibal roof rack (I think Slee made a nice one as well??)

Opinions on my suggestios? what else...?
Are there any typical weak points with this vehicle? Maybe becuase of the Vortec?

To make it simple I would add the following

Hanna Rear bumper with tire carrier(located in Norcal)
Hanna Sliders
BFG Mud Terrains 33s are good
OME lift Heavys to support the 12k warn
Painless dual bat system(with an optima yellow top and red top)
ARB Front w/ a 12k Warn with syn. line ( the 10k are super hard to find)
Slee light harness upgrade
Slee Aux. light harness upgrade
OEM light switch from Slee
IPF J01 lights for the ARB
Husky Mats all around
Daniel Stern lights all around
Georges LEDs (also located in norcal)
New Hella Horn(stock horn is kinda weak)
Snorkle
Rear Storage Light Mod (get supplies from Cdan)

Thanks for the suggestions!

Ken Hanna is in San Luis Obisbo.

That is a trully a beautiful rig, I saw it a few times- during my lunch hour I would sneak over to TLC and gawk at all there rigs.

Yah - make it look like this:

http://home.comcast.net/~johnedavies/page2.htm

Make the winch a 12,000 if he ever expects to get really stuck. His truck is going to end up 6500 pounds empty, by the time he is done spending $$$$.

Nice truck - that color is damned hard to keep clean looking tho. Been there done that ;( Tell him to buy a dirt colored one next time.

I am looking forward to seeing it myself! Maybe even ask for a ride it in!

I am hoping to either 1) help build and add these things or 2) just get some before and after shots.

Nice Rig John... looked through your updgrades. Thanks for the suggestions.

More suggestions!!! Keep'm coming please!

Defientely take lots of pics, would love to see some engine shots. as I said before drop George a line he is also in Norcal. Makes some killer LEDs for the 80.

Thanks Biff... I will drop him a line.

Any suggestinos looming out there!!

Is that an 80 with the flares removed, or is there some custom work going on? I like the look.

Flares and "jewelry" removed... no bling

no knock on the Hanna rear bumper, but another one to consider is the rear bumper from 4x4labs.

check them out at:
www.4x4labs.com

It's a very nice, stout bumper with a myriad of options available.
I have a slee rear bumper w/tire carrier and love it -- another very good option.

Thanks Doug. I looked up 4x4 labs as well. They make some nice stuff.

I like Hanna's rear bumper but think the looks of the 4x4 labs or Slee is more along the lines of what I was looking to suggest. Hanna does make some nice stuff though.
