Hey all,

Just picked up a 17' 200 series last week and I am super stoked! Loved it already.

Looking to getting new tires and wheels for the big boy, but running into a slight issue. I am looking at doing Method 703 wheels (703 | Matte Black - https://www.methodracewheels.com/collections/all/products/703-matte-black?variant=33034699243581) 17x8.5 with a 35mm offset, and throwing them on Wildpeaks 285/70/17. I cant really find anything on if these will work, of if they will rub or cause any issue with the truck.

Bear with me here, I am new to meditations and there is a ton of information, math, and numbers that I dont really understand.

Thank you!

285/70r17 on 50 offset is an oem fitment.
will definitely work on an lx570 at +35mm.

Well, the tlc has kdss and the lx570 doesn’t, so the front wheels on tlc have different parameters, but I doubt there is any issue with a 285/70r17. Lots of +25 wheels out there, maybe search for a fitment in that, and if it was successful +35 would surely work.

You’ll have plenty of tire choices and never really need spacers.
Nice wheel too.

some amount of plastic trim may need to come out depending on how wildpeaks truly measure out. Like 2 bolts though. A well trained literal ape could do it.

I have virtually the same wheel and tire setup except mine are +25 instead of +35. Same tire size 285/70/17. I have stock LX suspension. Here I have some pics of what the fitment looks like.

All you will need to do is take off the front mudflap behind the front wheels. If you would like to keep the mudflap on to protect your paint, you will need to basically cut it in half as the inner part is what rubs. It's very obvious what you need to do once you get the new wheels on.

The rears need zero work to fit. The only rubbing I have now after the front mudflap mod is minor rubbing at full lock in reverse. Not worth it to do any more work as it doesn't bother me.

I have 285/70R17 on ICONs with +25 and no issues on a LC. Duratrac tires. I also have BP-51 lift though suspension lift doesn’t really matter as wheel travel doesn’t really change.

I’m planning g to go up one more size to 34s and from tire threads here that seems to be the limit before you get in to KDSS issues.

Thanks for the advice! Got the wheels and tires installed a few day ago and only noticed minor rubbing as well. Just going to leave them on since it doesn't really bother me.

Pics por favor

I wish I would have seen this earlier, I have this exact setup. Works great, removed front mud flaps and did a very minor trim to front fender liner to keep it from touching in reverse

Just a heads up, are you using the ET lugs? You should be seated more deeply than that with more engagement.

These are the lug nuts...

They are these lug nuts...

Ive used these

before and did not have sufficient stud thread engagement.

If you are not getting at least 10 turns, try these

instead. They will also help further locate the wheel to the hub.

The ones you posted slipped for me.

I will step out to the garage to pop a lug nut off and take a closer look this afternoon, thanks for the heads up!

This is the style of extended throat lugnut that I had to use with Evos.

Man, this really looks great.... I am really debating what to do on my wheel tire combo (LX 570). I like this wheel alot, but doesn't come in an 18". Might just have to go 17's and bite the bullet. Most of the 18's I find are $350-$420 a pop. Relly wanted to try and keep rebuild costs down.

Something I didn't think too much about when going 17" is the spare tire.

There aren't many options other than getting a 5th matching spare as there is really no OEM 17" wheels. Since I am only rotating 4, my plan is to use an 18" wheel with similar overall diameter tire. I've already sourced a Tundra spare wheel.

With my 285/70/17, a comparable tire is 285/65/18 or something larger and more worn down. Not really a huge issue, just something to think about...
