I have a revtek lift 3" with size 33'' MT tires and 18 " wheels was wondering if anyone knows if I could go 34 or 35 size tires Is it possible? would I have room?

does the rim size make any difference? If I were to go a size higher on my tires, plus how many inches on your lift do you have?

OME lift = 2 1/2 inches give or take a1/4 of an inch depending on your bumper.

Do you think I could go 35/12.5/18 on my revtek 3'' lift and have enough room?

Wouldn't know.. But from what I have read on these forums. There was one guy who fit 35 inch tires MT/Rs I believe. WIth a lift. I think he had to chop the body mounts.

Don't quote me on this though. I still got the duelers. But probably wheeled the FJC more than 70% of this board.

If you go bigger than 33 and NEVER want to rub you need to cut and reweld the body mounts.

If you don't mind a rub here or there, 34s will tuck.

35s will rub without reworking the body mounts.

When you are talking about fitting 34" tires and other sizes are you talking actual size or list size of tire. I have done exstensive testing of tire sizing and lifts for FJ Cruiser (We build suspension lifts for FJC here at West Coast Cruisers Inc.) and I can give you some actual heights that will and will not work:

If you add an actual 3" of lift to the front of and FJ you can fit 33.5" height tire and you might get slight rub if you are leaning and turning, and that would be with the body mount rail behind the front tires. Most 33" tires are approx 32.5 - 33" and most 34" tires that are offered are 33" - 33.5". Most 35" tires are 34 -34.5" must of this depends on tire company and also the wheel size as to actual size.

I do not run MTR any more but if I am not mistaken a 30570r17 is 34.1" BFG AT/TA the 31570r17 is 34.5" Both of these will have rub with a 3" lift

I can tell you even with 4" of lift you will still have tire rub with 34.5" and bigger, and a 4" lift in the front of a FJ is not a pretty site.

I hope this helps out a bit, I have other actual tire heights but to much data to list, if you have a specific question asked it on here or PM me and I will be glad to answer.

Cheers,

Michael

I guess I would have to cut and weld my body mount to avoid the rubbing, and to move up to 34" or 35" cause right now with 33" I'm getting a slight rubbing on the driver front side...

What tires are you running currently. I only ask because I have not seen tire rub with my 3" kits, I would like to try some of the tire you are using. Can you measure the tire's actual height as well.

Thanks,

Michael

Ok, so what does the 18.9 mean, it is an 18" wheel correct? According to Toyo this tire is a true 33" actual tire height, I am surprised you are getting tire rub, did you change the BS on the after market wheels you have, is the RevTech an actual 3" lift in the front. I have tested with actual 33" tires and found no tire rub with our suspension kits. We run Stock 17" steel wheels and alloy wheels in our testing

Ok, I have not heard of this the diameter of the tire is 18.9 inches?? is it considered an 18" wheel? Have you off-roaded with 18" wheel yet. I wheeled with 17" wheels for the first time recently and felt I would rather stick with 16" for wheeling a little more sidewall to give.

Cheers,

Michael
Yes they are 18'',but on my reciep it said 18x8.
I have off road it and it ran great, no problems at all...

I had changed my post while you replied, so you have 18" x 8" wide wheels got it. Check my previous post again, listed some additional information.

Thanks for the information.

35s? Why, a well balanced rig does just fine with 33", 3"lift and trimed body mounts to max articulation. DirtBoss has 35s ask him.
why? is he not happy with the 35''?

I don't know, He seamed happy on Miller's Truck Trail. Last time I saw him. He had removed the front stableizers and bumper to max tire articulation. I thought his rig looked trashed.
