Hi Guys,

After a solid 80k miles on the current set of BFG AT/KO's, I need to replace them. I found a set of 285 75 R16's on nice aluminum rims that came off a Chevy Silverado. Poking around the site it seems as if the larger size (currently running 270 70 R16) won't be much of an issue, but couldn't find anything about the rims. The new rims have a standard 6 lug pattern and I've been told they'll fit my '97 truck. Anyone know this for sure? Also, any downside to the larger tire on my standard suspension?

Thanks,
Evan

You need to make sure the center bore is big enough to fit around your truck's hubs. My buddy wanted to use a set of bling rims from a Tahoe on his 4Runner (to pass a safety test...), but the center bore was waaaaaay too small. Ended up using my wheels instead.

The tires will fit on your 16" wheels, BTW ;)

Yeah those bores are like 78mm and 80 has 108mm center bore.
I too found a nice set off a Ford 150 and it was way too small.. lugs fit but not the hub.... :bang:

Thanks guys,

Yeah, looks like I'll have to do some measuring and do a fit test. Thanks for the input though!

don't forget to check the backspacing too. That way you will know if you need spacers or not. And for what it is worth a 5.5" backspaced rim will go on the hub and torque down but the inside edge of the rim sits 1/4" away from the PS steering arm on the knuckle.
