One of my tires recently exploded so i have decided to replace all 4 (it was time). I am running the 30"x 9.5" R15 BFG A.T. Went to the local shop to p/u some tires (31"x10.5) and they told me my rims are too small. I've searched the forum looking for altenatives (i.e., 4runner rims) but had no luck. My question is, is there a stock rim that is 7" wide (my stock rims are 6") or a 15" x 7" 4runner rim that will work on my bj60?

1000's of LC owners run 31X10.50's on stock 15X6 rims. They work great. Find another tire shop.

I run Cooper Discoverer ATR's in 265/75R15 on my 60 in the summer. They were recommended for 7" rims, but the shop mounted them for me on the stock wheels. The work just fine for mostly on the road.

BFG AT 33X10.5 on stock fj60 rims..don't ask don't tell..most shops don't check.

I thought the stock FJ60 (86 year model) wheels were 7 inchs wide?
