I'm running BFG AT KO's 10.5x31 and the installer put 35# in the tires. They seem a bit mushy. Give me your advise on running preasure for the DD. I have looked up the max load rating and the pressure suggeated for that is 50# but I am not planning on running under max load. I'm just looking for max tire mileage and gas economy. Thanks for the input.

I keep mine at around 40 psi and I like the ride. I have new set of BFG T/A KO 31 x 10.5s that I have yet to have installed, so I can't comment on those particular tires.

I run about 32psi in all my tires, 33x9.5's, 235's, 285's, 35's ect.

There has been a lot posted about tire pressure (try a search). I like the chalk trick. Find a smooth drive. Put a thick line of chalk across the tire. Drive the tire a couple of rotations. If all of the chalk has evenly come off, the tire is flat across and this minimizes wear. If there is some chalk left toward the sidewalls, then the tire has a high spot in the middle and will wear prematurely in the middle etc.

I have BFG ATs 31 X 10.50s on stock rims and run from 30 to 33 psi.

Good luck

Wow. Maybe I need to lower my pressure based on what I have read so far.

tech links, right column...one of the last links on there covers Tire Pressures for 4wheelin...

For my rig:

each tire will hold up 4000# at 30 psi....my rig weighs only 4000#....therefore, based on the math, my street pressure should be 30psi/4 or 7.5 psi. I rounded up and run 8 tho...(cause I'm a rebel)

For a truly accurate measurement, get your rig weighed. Even more important, front to back as well. Your sidewalls have a max load rating per max pressure....grab the calculator and you'll get yourself very close.

35 to 40 psi in my 37x12.5x17 MTR's

Cool little trick, can't wait to try it. I bet I'm running too much air. 40psi on 33x10.5x15's

im running 23psi on 35s by 12.5s on the road...sounds like i should be running somwhere around 30 then.. i dont know what my truck wieghs.. my guess would be a lot

Here's a test for ya,

Inflate the tyre to say 36psi, then drive for 10mins. Check the tyre pressure (same gauge if possible) The pressure should have increased by 4psi. Add or subtract air until this is reached.

Each tyre/brand/size is rated for many conditions. Load, terrain, climate etc...

Anyways, my 2 cents worth ;)
