tire pressure question (1 Viewer)

I recently replaced the oem tires on my 94' with 285/75 goodyear mt/rs and was wondering what pressure they should be at. The place that put them on filled them to about 55psi, and my father thinks that's a bit high.

I agree its too high, I would start with 36 and adjust from there, there was a thread recently that discussed how to dial in tire pressure based on the type of tire, the vehicle weight, the type of driving, etc. Look in search and if nothing else works type in "shoe polish" as it was probably the only thread that used those words. thanks a lot, I dropped it down to 38 after reading so many people's disbelief that 55 was even driveable; I was just used to the harsh ride

36 psi for street and 12-15 for offroad if you don't have bead locks.
