I'm a week or two into my 2014 LC and so I've been reading the manual to understand things. One thing that struck me as odd was that the Tire Inflation Pressure display says there's no correlation between the order of the displayed values and the tire positions. I have one tire that is a little low. Since the display doesn't show me which tire, then I have to manually check each one? Just thought it was strange that they would have a display of all 5 tires pressures, but don't correlate the tires and pressures. Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Nope, you're not missing anything. One thing you can do is inflate your spare a few PSI over what your others are at. That way you can always pick that one out. Another thing you can do is use a grease pen to number on inside tire wall. This will help even when tire rotations happen. All you'd have to do is just drop down and look at the opposing side's tires to see their respective numbers.

Of course these are not the solutions you'd hope for but, they work for me. :meh:

The sensors are wireless, so position would be something that would add a lot to the sensor to figure out for very little in return since it only takes a few seconds per tire to check the pressure. The sensor would have to have another piece of data to read to know where it is currently mounted.

That's correct. I put 45 psi in my spare so I at least know which one that is.

The new 2016 shows the position, the spare over inflated is a good trick, the other trick I do is I park with one side facing the sun, after a couple of hours both those tires will have a higher psi than the ones on the shade, so at least you know which ones are the right side and the left, without having to test. I just write it down, so when I have a leak, I just need to test 2 tires.

Lame. I'm not sure how, but my '08 Acura knew the positions, and it was using similar TPMS sensors.

Lame? okay I will take the rebuke. I am no expert here and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night

The better work around is to just ignore TPMS info entirely and take a glance at the tires occasionally and check pressures once a month... Like we all did a few years ago.

Yeah, I'll have to do that. Just find it strange on such a high end vehicle. My wife's older Grand Cherokee shows individual tire pressures.

I'm calling Toyota lame, not you Romer. If Honda could do this successfully almost a decade ago, why can't they? Disappointing.

Agreed, I've had 2 chevy's that detailed the pressure of each tires. Thankfully the 2016 LC does have the detail.

Like anything dealing with technology, you can either use it or not.

I find it useful to know the current status of tires. We tend to do extended trips, 5-7 hours, a few times a month. Being able to toggle through the menu to see where my tires are while on the road is convenient. If I notice one is low, well I just take a look at the number in the menu, then the number I put on the tire. Ridiculously easy all-in-all. Agreed that it's not the best system on the block.

It saved me many times in the past to detect a slow leak, that could have been problematic before long road trips.
I am a Tire pressure Nut, I check the system at least once a day. But I also have lousy luck with screws/nails ending in my tires.
I never had to change a tire since I have those system in my cars, I've always managed to make it safely to a tire place to either fix the tire or replace them.
Love that aspect

I think we're ALL a little spoiled these days... ;)

Myself included.

My wife's 2010 Lexus IS 250C designates each tire. I'm old school anyway. I'm not a fan of all the gizmos.

A while back I was towing my boat with my 08 on the highway. Cruising along and the tire pressure monitor warning popped up. Oh no...says me but no problem if its just a little low. Now silly me for some reason thinks the indicator is showing that the driver's side rear tire is low. So I look in the side mirror and it looks fine. Carry on... pressure going down in the display. I stick my head out the window while still on the highway and darn that rear tire looks fine at 75mph. Must be the sensor. Pressure still going down on the display. Jeez...Well I need gas so might as well pull off and fill up. I stop in the gas station, get out of the car and notice the PASSENGER side rear tire VERY low...and getting lower. Doh!
