its time to get off these stock tires and into some all terrains. I know everyone has different opinions but what is everyone running and how do you like them..... Especially you desert rats.

To me you can't go wrong with BF Goodrich A/T KO2s. Surprisingly I have only ever run BFGs on all my previous vehicles because they were just that good. Then with my last truck I tried the KO2s and was amazed, such a great tire. Great traction, price, and quiet as any A/T gets. Though I can only speak for BFGs, I have heard good things about coopers as well, and considering trying a pair on my LX.

Agree with above. BFG KO2s here. Love them. Very quiet and nice ride on hwy considering the aggressive tread. Recommend.

I also prefer Bfg A\T and have only owned these for off road vehicles so I'm particular to them. Although I have owned a set of Goodyear MTRs on my 80 series and experienced a failure when a Creosote bush punch a hole through the tread.

Another vote for KO2 tires. Installed them about 2500 miles ago and they are pretty much perfect for my needs. Amazing on road manners and really good traction offroad.

I'm in something of a minority, and haven't had great luck with BFGs. Performance was fine, but lifespan was not. I don't think either set I had lasted much more than 20k miles or so. Most recently I've been running Nitto Terragrapplers, and those have had similar performance and are wearing better.

Yeah I was looking at those and the cooper st max but wasn't sure if I wanted to shell out the extra 25 buck a tire.

Just for the sake of difference, I'll chime in. I have an irrational hatred for the BFG AT... I'm running 295/75/16 and would never think of paying over $130 more per tire versus the Toyo Open Country AT II I chose. Over 45K miles thus far on a 5 tire rotation and probably about that many to go...will most likely buy again...

Nitto Terra Grapplers here as well. They were recommended by the local MUD members when I was researching for an AT. Good for our climate. I'll have to confirm but I believe I'm over 20k miles now, no issues.

I would vote for the Goodyear Duratrac. I ran them on my F150 and now have them on my 100, good all around tire, keep them rotated and they wear well and they are snow rated and stud-able (might not matter to you being in the desert but great if you get into any snow on a semi regular basis.

Cooper discover SST Max. Very aggressive, super quite, and people report 60k+ miles out of them. They're cheaper too. Only negative is they're heavier than some of the similar tires. They also have Stud-ability.

Also, the 295/70/18 size is an exact fit for the 100 series. 0 rubbing but it is as close as you can get.

Another vote for the Toyo ATII's

After around 40k I'm very happy with my decision. Plenty of tread left.

I have General Grabber AT2
Have about 24,000 miles on them and they are just beginning to show wear.

They have been through a trip to Ouray CO. Are quiet and in the snow they didn't skip a beat.
Also paid about $185/ tire.

BFG ATs hands down is my vote for a street friendly AT tire that also kicks ass on the trail.

I had them on my old Toyota pickup. Loved them. I have them on my 99 LC. 30k miles into them I still have 10-12/32 tread left, they're quiet and have no problems balancing. I couldn't ask for anything more.

I'll be buying the KO2s when it's finally time to change out the current ones. I might manage 60k+ out of them from the looks of it.

I was waiting for someone to testify for these. So cheap as worried how they would hold up though

You liking them so far? They have a badass looking tread pattern.

On my 2001 Cruiser I have 275 65 R18 Nitto TerraGrapplers. Super happy with them. A friend got 60,000 miles out of the same on his 2wd pick up. So far I have 30,000 miles with good wear left. I'm in Yuma AZ so lots of dust and smaller rocks. Never any real rock crawling. My commute it 50 miles a day all highway and they are super quite and easy to keep balanced.
