Good morning - hope everyone has had a good week so far.

I believe this wheel stud can just be hammered out and replaced BUT I’ve not dealt with a Toyota with this issue before so seems like a good idea to ask.

Some heat, penetrating oil, let it sit for a bit and then use a punch?

Thanks!

I don't see why you couldn't remove it like any other stud. hammer time. a small 2 pound sledge would knock it out easy.

Wheel stud remover. You can buy one on Amazon. Eastwood probably has one, Summit and Jegs, too. Possibly Horrible Freight.
Old school would be to pull the axle and use a press.

Thanks gentlemen, appreciate the responses. I need to swap out the differential on this rig anyway, sounds like it might make sense to get this on a press since the axle to come out for that job anyway, right?

This would also make I stalling a new wheel lug assuming removing old one to install a new one. Press or BFH easier to do with the axle shaft removed. Had some of those that would be a real challenge getting out using a C clamp. 20 ton press makes quick work of it. If your careful not to hard getting Pinion out. Remove the pinion shaft just enough to pull the block holding axles out and C clips in place.
