See the pic below. This is TDC compression stroke, the other side is on the mark. It's also making a knocking tapping noise that can be felt in when you put your hand on that cam gear cover. Any ideas?

Looks like the belt is off by a tooth, I'd line it up and see. (Lined up at the line for the cams that are cast in not that T that also got marked red)

Yep, I'd be inclined to remove the belt and reorient all.

@flintknapper timing belt has been redone. I had pulled the hydraulic tensioner prior to that photo and replaced to see if that helped the noise. I think it must have jumped a tooth when I did that. It's for sure in proper order now.

I went through everything on the front of the motor and made sure it was tight. Put it all back together and the knocking noised is still there. I am homing in on the PS cam gear cover (the aluminum part, not plastic). I can feel whatever is making the noise when I put my hand on it. I checked the bolts on it and everything is tight.

To be real honest, when I swapped the heads I don't remember if I used the cam gear cover from my old head or the used head I got from @cjmoon . Would that by chance make any difference?
