hi guys. justchanged my timing belt today and front crank seal. Ive turned it over by hand and with a bit more confidence ran the engine for about 20 seconds.
the timing covers still off with no fan belts etc installed yet.

the timing belt light is now red and all dash lights on. i know tha dash lights are due to the alternator not being connected but am worried about the timing belt light.
i thought the light was only associated with the dash!

any ideas before I reassemble the rest?
timing looked ok but cam sprocket looks a half tooth out!

I believe there is a reset button next to the light on the gauge assembly that need to press and hold.

That should cancel the Timing Belt light. / reset it.

There is a little rubber grommet on the clear lens that you supposedly take off to push that reset button.

If you can get the rubber grommet off without breaking the lens, then go that route for sure. The only other option to access the button is to remove the gauge pod, including the clear lens. I did this because I couldn't get that little rubber thing out with breaking the lens.
