Just over 2 years ago I sold my Wrangel Rubicon and decided I wanted something bigger and safer as a second vehicle for driving my kid around and the winter here in Michigan. Anyway its been a GREAT two years, I have realized there is nothing as comfortable and capable as a Cruiser/LX. Anyway I had my LX in for some basic service the other week (AC recharge, tire balance, rotation and steering alignment) and rented a Yukon XL as I was leaving my car with my Toyota dealer a couple days. The Yukon made me miss some of the newer tech evolutions fo the past 11 years LOL. While it did not make me even consider a Yukon it did make me decide I really want to move into a 570!
I am looking at a 16, 17 or 18. I have searched the forum here but really have not been able to find out what changes there were in these 3 years and if there is one I should be targeting over the others etc.
Any help, thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!
I will just sell my 470 (under 71K miles) and write a check for the new one :)
Anyway, she is not for sale yet but here is a pic :)
I really need to look at tires and wheels for the 570 Ireally want to run BFGs again like I have now :)

Imagine the shock of going from an 21+ year old 80 series to a late model vehicle. Way more tech and WAY more get up and go.

Per my signature I’ve had several of them all. I liked the looks of 2013-15. If you like the looks of the 2016-18 buy the newest lowest mileage one in the color you like. Tech wise between 16-18 I don’t think you will find any difference.

It's unforgivable that Toyota stopped using the seat mounted armrests used in the 100 series. It may sound silly, but that's what I miss the most about my old truck.

All kidding aside, you'll love the 200! Great truck

I went from an LX470 to a 200 LC and am much happier without the armrests. They always seemed to be in the way. The large center console armrest in the 200 is much more comfortable for me.

Keep your current wheels and move them over to the new rig (same specs for off set) if you like them.

I too have a 100 and a 200. I will say that the 200 is superior in the get-up-and-go department. We just got back from a 15 hr trip to Sanibel, FL loaded down with three kids, a wife (with all that entails), and a kayak on top and that thing passed vehicles on the highway like it was empty!

I have the 100 and the 200. I like the driving dynamics of the 100 (w/tundra motor) but I like the finish of the 200 better. Personally I don't see any reason to go with a late model unit. I prefer the early units for the price savings (save the extra $$$ for the 300). The newer spindle units are hypnotizing but the LC/LX is meant to be tough, sturdy, militant not sexy and petite. I have been conflicted of my thoughts on the LX, its pretty much an LC but dressed up in formal wear. I would feel sad if I got a scratch on it. I do like AHC after hating it initially but do prefer coilovers/springs more. Somehow a LC without sliders feels naked to me now even though I have never used them offroad but its soo much nicer stepping on something with proper support.

I really enjoyed my LX470. It being a late model '06 which had the benefit of vvti, felt completely solid in the power department. Plenty of torque off the line and power to merge. The LX570 is most definitely quicker, and where it absolutely shows is in the high speed passing power in rural single lane roads. The LX470 was more agile and lithe if that can be said for a bruiser. Miss it but having a 200-series sure helps those thoughts!

Tech wise, the convenience technology that the LX570 has that really makes a difference to me day to day is the keyless entry and ignition, cooled seats, and perhaps also the power liftgate. Beyond that, I don't really use the maps or onboard apps at all. So long as my phone can connect to the audio system via bluetooth, that's all the tech I need. Then use the smartphone for just about everything else. So onboard apps really is a gimmicky thing to me because at first, it's cool, then they get old in the tooth really quick as they seldom get updated. I expect the same for a late model 200-series. Unless that tech is Apple Play/Android Auto which allows me to use my phone through the onboard display, I just don't care much. So an earlier year 200-series might be an opportunity. Either way, it's a nice upgrade from the 100-series that you won't regret.

Nice Turbo!

Agreed, nice rims too.

I had a 996tt as well. Seal grey exterior, gray interior, ECU flash to ~500hp. Super fun car. Got very expensive to maintain, and with the wife giving me grief over the 911 and her needing a new car, I traded it in.

One of these days, I'll get another one.

Owned a 1983 944, 1985 911 black on black with the Turbo whales tail and a 1987 928 S4. Only one I miss is that air cooled engine 911, badass and great quality.
