Try Fabco in Cary. Guy by the name of Shep runs the shop. He may or may not have exactly what you need, but he's a good guy and prices are fair.

I did get some pricing, but left it at work again. Enough steel to build 2 pair of sliders it was going to cost about $500 which included;

2 x 20' - 1.75" x .120" DOM
2 x 20' - 2" x 3" 11 gauge box
1 x 4' x 4' 3/16 plate steel (to be used for making mounts/gussets)

I haven't made sliders before and figured it pretty tight on the steel so might end up needing another peice of DOM if the mounting tube eat too far into the stock. If all goes well i plan on trying to start this project after the 1st of the year.

are you just going to wing it or use some type of plan/blueprint? Check out George's design which is what i ended up using.

plan's would be cool, but don't have any. it will be combination of sliders that I have seen. mines a 94' and the other set is for brandon who has a 95' we both have slightly different ideas but overall a close design. at this point its hard to tell what they will look like. Close to what DarWalk did but, they will bolt on in some manner.

Back on project... I picked up some 2"x3" box and some 1-3/4" dom yesterday so, now i'm ready to get started.

I was offered use of a tube bender but it's in charlotte. I'd love to find one closer, anyone have any leads??

i think i have a bender lined up. and here is where i am at so far.

i wish, but just enough steel to do mine and brandon's. I will keep try to keep all the information in case someone would like to try cop them in the furutre.

Well I met Jordan and some of his crew over at ROVERTYM in Durham, he took time out of his day to show me how to use their bender and helped me get the angles I wanted, and we bend the 1st tube. Then he turned me loose and I bend the next 3. They do a lot of 1st class fabrcation work there, and they have a nicely equipped shop. While they are a rover shop they were more then willing to help out another wheeler. If anyone needs any work done or just needs to use some tools, give them a call you won't be disappointed.

Here's pic of the current status.

waiting on the weather... I might make some more progress this weekend, but i am not in a huge hurry, so i am not working in the rain or any sub-45 degree days. i have plenty of other projects to work on.

Well, I got the fender flares off today and got the tubes on the sliders mocked up and cut out. Now it's time to start welding them up.
