Trying to stay under 15,000. The main things would probably be lockers.
What kind of life can you expect from a LC? Most of the ones you showed have over 100,000 miles. Also what kind of fuel milage do LC's get?
Thanks
15 *MIGHT* get you into an 100 series from a private party...I doubt from a dealer unless you don't owe anything on the burban.
The LC's with maintenance will go easily 200K plus. I'm at 196K and the only thing has happened outside of normal maintenance is our power steering pump went at 188K last summer. The PO never had any problems with it, and had it dealer serviced it's whole life as we have continued to do. We've had it for 5 years and 70K and loved every minute of outside of gas mileage LOL...but this *IS* a land cruiser...a very heavy one at that.
The newest 80 series is at 10 years old basically...you won't find a ton under 100K. that being said You'll find one's being traded in by their original owners, babied, mall used and that magic Front/rear locker dial that they had no idea what it did.
If you venture into the 80 series forum you'll find it's beginning to get littered with head gasket stories. Most of those that don't have the issues obviously don't speak up...lol, but that is probably the only thing you really have to sorta worry about...maybe?
Check on if they have the maintenance history...when the last time the front end was serviced. Birf jobs aren't *that* hard to do on your own, you can get parts from C-dan to re-do the WHOLE thing.
Mileage is around 12-13 in town, 14-15 on the highway...not great but for it's reliability and comfort and awesome capabilities it can't be beat. The LC's are super safe vehicles and the fulltime 4WD works great on snow & ice...good for wifey to drive on...
The 100's are nice, and what my wife wants, but still out of our price range. They are slightly bigger, more creature comforts, more power and still very good off road.
Are you going to have kids in the 3rd row? not much room in EITHER in that respect when coming from a burb. Again, the most important part (besides locker

j/k) is the maintenance history. A well maintained LC will last a LOOOONG time.
Who says you can't wheel pink panty mobiles???
