Got sticker shock trying to source inner and outer tie rods for our ‘08 LX 570 going for $250+ a pair.

Are there direct LC replacements and any source to buy them? Thanks!

After jacking up a tie rod end when putting on a lift, a friend ordered one for me from Advance Auto (He felt guilty since he was the one wielding the mallet when the threads stripped.) Assuming that the ends are the same between a LC and and a LX, mine was less than $50 and it came with a bolt in a hole where you can put in a zirk fitting (which the OEM version does not have).

Sorry, just saw where you are looking for the entire tie rod, and not just the end.

Sorry I meant tie rod end. Found outers on rock auto $25 each, inners for $35. Inner rods have no designated right or left, correct?

website on outfitters show no tie rods unfortunately.

They are definitely on CruiserOutfitters.com and our ecommerce site, CruiserTeq.com

One of my outer tie rods is a little loose and I have an upcoming brake job planned so was going to replace this at the same time. I've got a 2010 LX, about 140K.

Two basic questions:

1. Should I replace these in pairs?
2. Should I go ahead and replace the entire tie rod assembly?

Thanks!

while you’re in there it’s easy enough to do both. As for entire assembly are you referring to from the rack boot outwards? Not unless your steering is acting up or your rack is leaking.

At a minimum, I would do both outer ends. However given the outers are starting to wear, I just go ahead and do the inners and call it a day.

@Boston Mangler did you end replacing the inner tie rods when you were completing your front end rebuild? Trying to determine the size of tool I will need when removing them from the rack.

I have not done either yet. That’s on the list..

First phase was all the rubber bushings and such

I’ll likely do that when i get the Bilsteins revalved

I'll be at the shop today and am happy to pull a kit and grab any necessary measurements
