good idea on the gps, will use it for next tank,

Alright, check it, i got some videos, it's off a digi camera and i had to hold it while i was drive so not the best quality:p.
Oh also wanted to add that the reason you hear the clicking in the first few tries for starting, that's my starter solenoid, so don't pay attention to that.

Nicely done. On your 8 pin hei module... ground the outer shielding loom.

Oh and another thing... your O2 sensor is single wire and not heated... so you technically should still let the truck warm up a bit before driving. In the future I would replace it with one that is heated so that you don't need to worry about it.

Where did you get the speedo connector? BTW the pictures are perfect... shows what everybody is trying to describe but can't without pictures.

Yea i realized that about the 02 sensor, doesn't really start working till truck is warm. speedo connector from downey off road.

Hum, 65 MPH in a residential 25 MPH.

That ought to be good for a grand and a dozen or so points on the ol' driver's license. I bet your neighbors with little kids appreciated that.

Congrats on your efforts on the FI, though. Quite a learning experience.

Actually with my tires its more like 58 mph.:flipoff2: Thanks man, yours is up next:D

I'm just bustin' your balls, man.

Cudos to you on the FI, seriously. I would need to know more (and have some serious assistance) to ever attempt something like that. For as little as I drive it, my Jerry Halman-tuned Quadrajet works just fine. I drove it something like 350 miles last year. I know, I know, I suck. But I rode over 2000 miles on my dirt bikes.

ya but check it, you'd drive it more if it got better gas milage right?:D Did someone say Fuel injection.;)

Seriously man, i am getting such better milage it is incredible, i'm sure it would help your v8 too. It was hard because it was my first time, but a v8 wiring harness is pretty much the same, honestly if you bought all the parts you and me could knock it out in a weekend and i'm being serious, cause i did mine in 4 days, only took me a few hours to put the parts on, and 3.5 days of figuring out what wires i need and what wires i don't need. So much troubleshooting and double checking wires is what took the longest. Let me know if i can lend a hand.

I need to get with you and see all the pieces it takes....

In reality, I don't drive it because it is usually to hot, cold, wet, might get wet, dusty, rough riding/spill my beer, need to be incognito, going somewhere I need to lock my stuff plus I have a free company car to ride in climate-controlled satelite-radio-listening heated-seat riding luxury. Gas/economy is not even on the radar. Yes, I am a puss. I daily drove a 40 for 10+ years in the 80's & early 90's...prolly before you were born!

Eliminating the carb idiosyncrasies would be the best benefit.

Ya another thing about the tbi is that it is just BADASS. No pumping, choking, flooring, flooding, vapor locking, praying, s***ty throttle response, offroad stalling. Does it all on its own.

Carry an extra fuel pump, ignition module and ECM and you will be golden

Doubt that, i do like the simplicity of the tbi though, the efi that matt did has 4 more injectors than my setup. I just favor the tbi more. BUT, next project is a turbo. haha

I would go TBI but there just aren't many tbi parts around, particularly not suitable for a 4.2L, extra injectors don't add much extra work, what impressed me most with Matt's install was the mapping.

When you add a turbo will you have to map it yourself or are there chips around already, that would be nice although I am looking forward to mapping mine if / when I add a supercharger.

ive been following this thread, great job! i enjoyed the videos, yea when your driving a 40 you forget you usually feel like your going faster than you really are., but in reality its alot slower, lol. So your killing me, how much mpg are you getting????

so true on the idea of feeling like your going faster than you really are lol...

Well i just figured out the whole gps thing so tomorrow i'll fill up and run it for a few days, then we'll see, i'm gonna keep myself from drivine 65 and stay at 50-55 and see how well it does. later

I'll have a ecm and ignition module, but don't have the money to throw at a spare fuel pump.

What pump are you running?
I went thru 4 external ES2000, (I think) one week in South Dakota in a 104 degree heat wave......:rolleyes:
One of these days I'm gonna modify a stock tank and install an AC Delco in there.
