Great news about the spare rim. Here is a link to when this cruisers was on Mud years ago if you didn't already find it. https://forum.ih8mud.com/search.php?searchid=12383809 She only had a few other posts and for some reason as the site grew there are now in the 60 series for sale section in a thread with thousand of posts. Not sure what all happened but she was not happy with the site.

I live in the north half of the state around the Univ. of Phoenix Stadium. Would like to see it when it gets here. I'll start saving up my gas money for the trip. Are you having it shipped or going up to get it?

Not sure of what engine came in your FJ25 but the distributer that Mike Fox was talking about was in the early ones with a F120 engine. The two I have that still had a complete original engine had the F135 which has a more common distributer. Not sure you know this but there was no 61 FJ25s. That just when it was sold and titled. Nothing fishy, just how things were done back then. First number in the VIN was be year of production. 8=1958, 9=1959, 0=1960.

John

When that happened there was just the one general for sale section. Some how when all the series for sale sections started I believe the old threads somehow got grouped together. Most of those posts had nothing to do with the 25. They weren't even in order. The top of the page even has a poll how you feel about the price. Only the two threads in the 25 section make sense and nothing that should have got here that upset unless it was in the PMs. Here the thread I'm talking about. https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj60-fj62-bj60-hj61/23002-sale-89-fj62-blown-engine-92.html#post546565 Her posts were on page 92 of 279. Over 5,560 posts in the thread. For search reasons a lot of old information for the most part was lost when this happened :crybaby: In the case of Ladytech she only had a few posts and if you find one post it's easy to find the rest. In the case of somebody who has many posts it gets much harder. If a mudder has over 1,000 posts it would be almost impossible to find if it was a older post they made. Generally speaking most of the older for sale info is lost. :bang: This is just as bad as people who use a off site to host pictures who later lose that site or posters who for some reason go back and delete pictures. Nothing like reading a great thread and having a bunch of white boxes with a red X.

Jim if you feel the need you can move my post the 25 chat thread. But delete it before you post in the general chat section.

Living in the past, Ive been working with Backtothefuture for a couple years now with his 60 fetish.

I recommended you guys getting together because if there is someone who knows these rigs in AZ it is YOU LITP. Heck, you even own one last I heard.

Cant wait to see it when it gets here :bounce:

When did I get down to just one 25? That is just wishful thinking. I would be happy down to two. Parts are so hard to find you end up four just to restore one.:bang: Some time you will have to drive a original 25. Guessing just a little different than your 82 FJ40.

PS: I tried to look for you last but week when I was there but I guess you saw me coming and hid. Had a question or two about tires.

Thanks for that info on the year and the engine/distributor. You are also welcome to visit this part of town anytime - although I think we are about as far apart in the City as possible - but we will offer you lunch/beeravage/dinner? Someone told me you have a wealth of information - something about an encyclopedia.
It's getting transported down - hopefully in the next week or so.

Arrived in AZ

Well it has arrived in AZ - almost in one piece. The top had a few issues with the wind, but the vent was there and in good shape.
Here are a few photos - if I get them attached properly. I am still confused about the VIN numbers, but it does have the 0- starting the VIN for the year 1960, and a 1961 printed on the plate. Ahh sort of makes sense - i guess?
I will need to get started looking for parts - starting with a new top. The glove box did have the T-Bird, the lens ring, and possibly one of the window mechanisms.

This seems right. Until 1965 all VINs started with the last number of the production year. The 61 was the year it was sold. I have a couple 1960 production FJ25s titled as 61s. A member here has or had a 1960 production title as a 62.

Glad to see it made it here okay. Took a while but I found the thread (in the 40/55 section ) someone posted of me transporting one of my FJ25s. https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/27164-fj25-az.html You can see how I use ratchet straps to secure the top during transport. These top didn't belong on 25 but I do this type of thing on all my old tops. They really don't attach well across the windshield.

Cool rig!

The current owner is local to me but the opposite side of the valley. I haven't seen it. Here is a link to a thread showing a picture he snapped of me transporting one of my FJ25s. https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/27164-fj25-az.html Post eleven the guy was making fun of my straps. Even thought this is a later top on a FJ25 even my other early FJ40 hard tops I use a couple of straps. The front lip attachment point is pretty poor on these. Not something I would trust towing it behind something. Most my later FJ40s had a very solid top except the top that came on my 73 soft top. Cruiser is from AZ but the top and door that came on it were from Missouri. Gutter is rusted. Seen a few threads over the years with tops that flew off in transit.

It looks like it has the four speed. Too bas about the top. It also have after market wipers instead of the original vacuum wipers but has most the original.
