Hey guys, I have been debating on selling my FJ60 for the last few months and I am pretty sure I am going to go through with it. I'm just a little unsure on how much I should/will get for it. I've put a lot of time and money into it but my wife and I have three vehicles and it rarely gets driven anymore.

Here are photos from this morning: 1987 Toyota LandCruiser - a set on Flickr

Here are the details:
Current mileage: 163000
Purchased in Arizona in 2007 at 152000 miles with all repair paperwork back to 1998. Arrived in Colorado in 2009 at 159000 miles.

Major Repairs

Previous owner:
@118000 miles
- replaced the original engine with a Man-A-Fre rebuilt engine, new water pump, new starter, new drive shaft and bearings
@144000 miles
- new radiator, new suspension system (front and rear leaf springs and shocks)
@152000 miles
- new Michelin LTX M/S tires, ball joint seals, front differential seals

Current owner:
@157000 miles
- replaced alternator
@158000 miles
- engine rebuild (replaced rod bearings, piston rigs, gaskets), valve job, replaced hoses, replaced thermostat, painted engine
@159000 miles
- replaced rear axle seal
@160000 miles
- replaced catalytic converters, rebuilt carburetor, replaced rear U-joint, replaced exhaust manifold gaskets, repaired emission computer, new vacuum lines, repaired intake manifold vacuum leak
@161000 miles
- replaced front and rear shocks, rejet carburetor and cleaned out idle circuit
@162000 miles
- rebuilt rear brakes (fluid flush, recondition rear drums and replaced rear shoes).

I am asking $6700. The interior is very clean! There are only a few things that it needs: new gas lifter (?) for rear hatch (won't stay completely open) and a powder coating on front bumper. Mechanically it is in immaculate shape!

would need additional pics, interior, etc. also, it seems a little odd that the rebuilt engine from MAF had to be rebuilt just 40k miles later. why?

you may get some bites at $7k but it may be a tiny bit high. probably sell, but would take some time.

also, i personally dont care for the brush guard or flares, but thats just me. a more stock looking truck to me would bring more $$$.

good luck.

Was wondering the same about the engine. More details?

My ex-wife (ugh) was driving it down to Phoenix (in 2008) and she said it over heated and was 'driving funny'. She stopped driving it and had it towed to a Midas. The guys there said the head was cracked and would need a couple thousand to fix it.

I was skeptical and had it towed back up to northern Arizona and eventually (when I had the $) had it sent to my Cruiser mechanic in Flagstaff. He told me the head was warped not cracked and that's when the recent engine rebuild happened.

Let's just say that my ex-wife never drove it again and we were divorced shortly before I left Arizona...

interior looks really nice. i assume the dash cover is cause of cracks in the dash? or to prevent them?

i would expect a little less rust on the frame for $7k. a little time underneath getting rid of the rust (looks like surface rust to me, but could scare some) and painting/rustproofing would help your cause.

The dash cover is mainly to prevent cracks, although there is one star-shaped crack (~ 1 inch in diameter) in the center of the dash.

I decided to list it at $7000 obo and hopefully it won't take too long to sell. Thanks for the input!

I now how that is. My ex drove my 80 and i had to have the engine rebuilt.
