The Taco and Chaser trailer mounted on the bed is exactly the type of rig I'm currently researchin' ...

'Cept it won't be a Taco ... and it won't be a Chaser. :grinpimp:

I'd considered a similar setup when I started the FJ60 but kept coming back to the fact that I'd have to break camp for a day of wheeling. That would be fine for overland travel as you would most likely do that anyway but it'd be PITA for going to events at an ORP. It's a trade-off either way.

I'm curious to see the platform to start with.... no doubt the back end will all be custom built.

Sure wish I was working, I'd be calling on Rubi & the lil trailer..... :crybaby:

70 series pickup?

I think I've 'bout exhausted any hopes of a Ty-ota platform due to my love of big American horsepower and 1-ton axles more than anything. So right now the Brute is indeed the leadin' candidate for my platform. Hemi and 1-tons are easy to get on 'em. :grinpimp:

Won't be any kind of removeable camper though ... I want to be free spirited and not have to worry about returning to a given location to camp. I wanna be like a turtle and carry my shell with me.

Lookin' into some options ... :hhmm:

Currently in the middle of negotiatin' for the new (to me) rig ... the platform for my expedition build. :bounce::bounce2:

Hope to have the deal done by the weekend and I'll post up pics and specs of the actual rig.

Reviewin' all the guesses of those that par-tic-i-pat-ed in this fine thread brings out the followin' partial truths:

Kowboy has always loved Jeeps, but AMC never built them big enough for Kowboy.

Correct! But ... By Gawd ... I do love it when ya take a TJ and turn it into a pickup. :D

He is putting a Hemi in ...

Correct! Y'all know I gotta have the ponies under the hood. :D

My vote is an extended TJ with the AEV Brute cab kit ...

BINGO!! 'Cept I'll also have the Brute bed on the back. :D

... no doubt the back end will all be custom built.

Correct! Mr. Cole at CAMPA USA | All Terrain Trailer and Expedition Vehicle System | Camping Trailers is gonna help me with that. But that's gonna be a ways down the road ... runnin' outta s*** to sell to fund this project. :grinpimp:

This here thread has done run its course.

I'll start up another thread once I get a deal done on a Brute. Hopefully soon ... but gotta wait and see. :meh:
