I'm sorry I missed you. :frown:

First casualty of the trip. The old clamshell didn't make it. If anyone wants it it is in a garbage can somewhere in Utah...

True! Except my power seat are disconnected in preparation of installing my manual seats with new cloth seat covers. Need the leg room. Obviously.

Not your clamshell! :crybaby:

Funny thing is that I took it off when I got home because I knew I was going to break it. That was 8 months ago. I put it on Sunday night in case the Shaman went out to look at my 80. I didn't want to be shamed by the Shaman!

It didn't make it out of Utah!

Who knows an off the beaten path area around South Lake Tahoe where my son and I can camp tonight? @Cruiserdrew @jcardona1

It is going to be cold as hell up there tonight. Get a hotel! Weatherunderground says 18F.

If as a matter of pride just have to camp, maybe go to the Rubicon Staging area in the Homewood area and stay there in the parking lot. It's probably deserted.

I'm from Iowa. 18F is shorts weather!

It was 5F two nights ago in Nebraska.

Thanks!

Take Rubicon-McKinney off of 89 at Homewood. Follow the signs through the neighborhood to the narrow black topped road leading in to the staging area. If you want you can go deeper to find a nice camp spot. The trail is easy for quite a ways.

Good call. And there's good restaurants nearby .

@LS1FJ40 - have you made it all the way to Tahoe already? I thought of a cool camp spot for you by a small lake and it would involve some mild wheeling to get there. Warning: there are hills to traverse unlike in the fair state of Iowa. Here, we call it fun.

The view from my window when I woke up this morning.

We made it to Rubicon. Didn't go far in but far enough to say we've been there. We'll have to come back in the summer when ye cold blooded Californians are up to it.

You can press on another mile or so. Go right at the "Y" sort of up hill through the narrow, old gate. Follow that another mile or 2 to a small lake, Little Bear Lake I think. Fun easy wheeling and you might catch a
Trout.

Yeah, we went up about a mileish. It was all ice. Fun but we have other plans. So we headed out.

The road down from Tahoe was killing my vertigo and anxiety. Holy crap! People are fawking nuts!!
