Back to tech...

I haven't advanced the timing. I'm a little hesitant to since it runs so well as it is. I may mess with it when I get home. I've never advance the timing on any of my 80s.

A lot of people advance timing to 6 degrees and it's noticeable in performance and some MPG gain too. No ill side affect as we have good gas in the states.

She's leaking like a sieve. PO had 5w-30 in it. I added 10w-40 yesterday. Will add 15w-40 today and check every 50 or so miles.

It appears to be leaking from this 24mm bolt. Same type of bolt as the diffs. Anyone know what that is? Could I pull it and add a crush washer to it and fill up with oil again?

Or is it more likely the front pan arch seal and I just need to limp it home?

First and easiest thing to replace is the dizzy O ring, I was surprised that my 80 doesn't leak/drip oil anymore after changing just that. Hoping most of your leak is from just that.

Nice.
How did you take care of the roof after removing the factory rack?

Tell me about the considerations that went into the design of that rack. I'm specifically curious about:
-high sides at the front. Edit: Inti clone?
-bar welded at 3/4...maybe farther back? Edit: cross bar for kayaks?

Went back and re-read your post.

I just plugged the holes with button cap screws from Lowe's. For now.

You answered all of the questions!

Jason knocked it out the park. The rack is exactly what I wanted. The slide out solar panel. The removable bar for kayaks. The high sides for Scepter cans. Everything. Just perfect.

But most importantly, I got it before Joey! Hahaha

Just looked at my long, dirty fingernails. Damn. If only I had something to cut them with...

It will be OK. We have all been at our Wits' end before.

I was LITERALLY at Wits' End and didn't get some. I meant to get a console organizer and fingernail clippers but forgot!

That's what I'm at. My 2F seemed to like about 10* (from 6*) with a non-US dizzy.

@Qball ill probably advance 6* and try it out. Seems like all the cool kids are doing it.

How difficult is the dizzy o ring? And is it just a rubber o ring?
