Pretty cool to hear that so many of us here on a Cruiser site are into Rush. I used to not like Rush because of Geddy's vocals, but one night at work the local classic rock station played "A Passage to Bangkok", which I'd never heard (most "radio" Rush consits of Closer to the Heart, Fly By Night, Spirit of Radio, Freewill, and Tom Sawyer) and I was like, "Whoa thats cool!" Then I went and bought Caress of Steel as my first album, which I thought was great 'cause I was really into Pink Floyd at the time. This was right around 7 years ago. I have just about all of their studio stuff (with the exception of a couple compilation albums) and a cool bootleg of their 79 Hemispheres tour show in Tuscon.

huh and all this time i thought the nicname "RUSH55" was because driving the pig was a RUSH, learn somethin new everyday. i dont know if i could pick out ANY song by rush, i'll hafta check them out

there ya go DD,, in the new RUSH thread :D

When I first met my G-friend Kristina, she had her own Rush collection- that pretty much sealed the deal. Rush never stops amazing me, from Hemispheres to Test for Echo, they know how to rock.

BTW has anyone seen Neils drum video, it is not to be missed

For trail clean up on Dec 4th, I am bringing along a small PA and the killer Rush play list on the iPod for clean-up motivation

For those who want to check out the site: http://www.rush.com

Rush live in Rio, is an amazing DVD the band covers a ton of there material, and there is a second behind the scenes DVD with plenty of great interviews and in depth camera work.
the Brazil crowd knows every word of hte music.

have not yet...

I have the Working man CD a tribute to Rush, many great players on this CD doing a great job covering Rush, but ya know it still isn't Rush

Ya know what was cool, was Audioslave covered "Working Man" back in April of 03 when they were at Mesa Amphitheatre. Just goes to show that the best listen to the best of the best.Er, something like that.

Live.

And then there was A Farewell to Kings,

And Hemispheres.

Who else could make a sing about maples, oaks, and a town in Italy?

Town in Italy? My memory fades, ????

Feedback

I have the Feedback CD. I like it, and I'm not a 60's music fan. Hubby didn't like the version of Crossroads, but he's a diehard Clapton fan, so only the Clapton version would make him happy. I would definitely say it's Rush paying tribute to their garage band days.

Nice avatar :) I saw with my G-friend Rush at Cricket just before they went to Rio to film the last tour on DVD.

On the first note the crowd stood up and never sat down. We had fourth row center seats. The band was in top form. It was like a private party!!!!

One of the best shows I have ever been to...

Thanks on the avatar...

Last concert at Cricket I had box seats and VIP passes (no backstage tho...)

but you're right... after the first note we were on our feet all night... this is the 5th time I've seen them... and they've just gotten better. An absolutely AWESOME show!

Any of you Rush fans into Joe Satriani? I just got his new album today, and it's pretty sweet.

Yes!
