Hello All!
My name is Kyle, I've got a little company called Plaidwagon, that you may have seen around here. I'm located in Grand Junction, Colorado and focus on making products for Land Cruisers.

I've been wanting to start a build thread for my 100 series and to also have a place to share some product ideas, happenings, and whatnot.
I really think the 100 series platform is in the sweet spot for Land Cruiser ownership right now. When I first got my '99 three years ago I was torn between getting back in an 80 series vs. a 100. I think I made the right call for my use and needs, and I think we're really seeing these things pushed into new territory as they become more affordable and given more support from the aftermarket.
So here's the beginning to the story of my 100 series, which also leads the birth of Plaidwagon as a company.
On June 26, 2021 I flew from Grand Junction to Austin, Texas and bought this green 1999 Land Cruiser from AJ, of AJ's Yotas. Cruiser shopping was interesting at that time, Covid prices were running wild. AJ was a friend of a friend, and it made me feel good to get something that was taken care of with some known history.
AJ picked me up from the airport, we had tacos at a great local place (forget the name), signed the title back at his house and then I bombed 1,000 miles back home. I love the Fly-N-Buy adventure, easy way to make sure it runs good!
I left Austin and drove forever across Texas, turned left in Amarillo, slept a few hours in the backseat somewhere in New Mexico, then over and up towards Durango. Zero issues during the trip and felt great being back in a cruiser again.
The green paint looks better in Colorado.
Quick picture around Silverton.
So here's where I started:
1999 w/rear locker
263k miles
OME rear springs, stock torsion bars
Ironman shocks F/R
255/85r16 Cooper ST Maxxxxxx
Ebay snorkel
Rocky Road sliders meant for a GX470, welded to frame
Some new paint
Most maintenance up to date
Ice cold AC
Heat barely worked...... more on this later
To be continued-
