What seats are you using and how do you like them. Also did you just trim down your gas fill tube and mate it with a new flex piece?

I am using Corbeau Baja SS seats on the factory tracks. I LOVE THEM!! they are very comfortable!

As for the gas tank filler, we trimmed it underneath the body of the truck and used some flew hose to connect it back up. Over all it was a pretty simple process and I love having the filler located where it is. How is your truck coming along?

Nick's seats are awesome, but not for fattys like myself. I longed for space when I drove franken80. I'd need the fatboy corbeau's

Im a big'n myself and would also get the chunky boy seats. Mines coming along fine. More removed and more little stuff im gonna have to deal with.

What you guys do with heater lines underneath the passenger seat, just reroute them to themselves? Also what the hell you guys do witth all the electrical?

If you want the wider seats, these are the ones you want in the "wide" version...
Corbeau: Baja JP

But be careful on how wide they are if you plan on having a full size middle console, I have a tuffy box and it is tight. Also with using the factory slides, it makes you sit pretty high (I am only 5'7), but if you are close to 6'0 you might find it to make you sit too high. I love having the ability to move the seat forwards and backwards.

In retrospect, I would have just left the rear heater in there, because it really isnt in the way too much. BUT, I took mine out and we rerouted them back into themselves under the floor board of the pass. side...

Ill post some pictures of the seats and the heater hose later...

I took heater out, ill try and sell it, i think if possible im trace heater lines back into engine bay as far as i can and eliminate them there.

here are some pictures:

1- seat
2- how the heater hose is connected back into itself, it works...

Good job! Ain't it fun?!
Curious, Why not loop the heater back at the firewall and just remove those lines under the rig?

After we took the rear heater out, that was just an easy place to do it. I still plan to use the front heater sometimes in the winter. Some heat is better than no heat...

So I like your cage, i took your pic in paint and changed somethings. I put red on what i would like to take away and blue on what id like to add instead. Was there a reason you had yours like that other than wanting to add rear seat in future.( i think i read that somewhere.)

Thanks! Yea the main reason we built the cage the way we did was because I plan on being able to put a kids seat back there. It is not high enough to and adult. If you dont plan on having a 3rd seat, then your plan looks great. Check out this build thread too, it is where I got a lot of ideas from initially.

This is Daryl "Bossman"'s build of Half-Ass

I havent updated this in a while, so I figured I would post up the most recent progress...

I test fitted a tan soft top from a 40 and it actually worked out well. I just have to attach some more straps and adjust a few things and it should work out quite well. Keep my ass dry since it has rained every time I have had the truck out , except for Ralph's a few weeks ago. (when I test fitted the top :hhmm:)

Next thing on the list is...

-Build a Front Bumper since I now have a winch

I am thinking of something like this (make the stinger a little higher), plus I want to make custom quarter panels that hide and/or have tube integrated into them that connect the cage to the bumper...

After all the rolls around this joint :hhmm:, I want to make sure this buggy is "roll ready"

Me and the MasterMind crew got some work done on the Franken80 this weekend. Goal is to have the front bumper/side protection and maybe a skid plate installed by October for the SCC...

1st- Finally installed the front spring spacers i won at GSMTR...

2nd- made a base for mounting my newly acquired winch (thanks Adam ;))

3rd- creating a bumper/front end protection, the side tubes will go behind the quarter panels and will be there in case of roll over to protect the engine bay (Dave, thanks for being my inspiration :flipoff2:)

The goal for the front bumper is to house the winch, connect to the side protection and have a stinger along the top...

I just cut my front fenders up with tube in mind. Will that clear the headlights?

No, the headlights wont clear. On the last trail ride I went on, the :princess: tagged a tree with the passenger side headlight, so I decided I would change the headlights to round hellas and some other small lights on the bumper to compensate.

Just get one of those LED bars everyone has been getting. Those things are stupid bright. You could mount it up top or on your fancy new bumper.

Those are great, but a little out of my budget. Cheapest I have seen them for is $250 for a relatively small bar. I can get a pair of Hella's for $65 and find some other small KC lights for the bumper for cheap. This is a budget build buggy, not a 100 series :grinpimp:

Finished up the bumper today...
