Depends on the junkyard. If its a recycler you will pay more, pick a part less.
I see them from time to time advertised in classifieds/craigslist for $100-200 give or take.

The one I am using was $75.00

the one I gave away was free

I can pick up one from the junkyard for $100 all day long

You can also buy a whole 80's 3/4 ton pickup for less than a grand easily and get the rear axle out of it.

You looking for one in particular?

Local yard I always used to go to was $75 for any axle. (believe me I was waiting for a front 60 but never saw one) I see them on some of the boards for $150.

Good bet is if they pull it, you're going to get bent over. If it's a u-pull yard, prices are a lot more reasonable.
If you see one in the paper/on craigslist, I'd offer them $100.

FWIW- Two friends of mine just picked up a couple in good shape for ~$100 ea. at one of the local Pull-A-Part's...

just to learn a little bit more .. ( yap I know always asking :frown: )

There are diferent options ( years ) for the 14 Bolts ? or only one that it's really tough ?

The FF 14 bolt is the beast that everyone talks about.

.

my local u-pull yard is $150 per axle too. Pretty good deal when they got a wrecked locked 80 in.

I bought a trailer made from a Chev with a 14 bolt last weekend because it had a Alaskan camper on it. $200 for the works. I'm going to put the camper on my pickup and sell the trailer for what I paid in a few weeks. Its a bit of a drive from your place though.

Been along time since I thought GM sh@# :grinpimp:

The "mini" 14 is a very strong axle and since it has the same bolt pattern as the Toyota 6 on ?.? it is a great up grade axle for modded rigs on the cheap. Semi float 9.34?" ring gear?

The FF 14 is in terms of strength I think is over the D60, but closer to and possibly = to D70. Full floater 10.5" ??? Ring gear? Last time I checked....a dime a dozen, cheap and plentyfull

The killer part about the FF 14 is a Detroit locker is :censor: forgot!

I forgot but what ever it is it costs substantially less to Detroit a FF 14 than any other axle I know. IIRC because it doesn't use a case ;)...IIRC the spool is cheap and supper strong, 4 shafts???(krap forgot) to...;)

I can buy them all day long for $32.50, but they arent worth my time to pull because its so hard to get any money back out of them when you sell them.

The only 14bFF i would pay more for is one out of a CUCV, factory 4.56 gears and a factory detroit locker. I paid $700 for my matched pair of M1028 CUCV axles, which included the front 4.56 D60 with factory trac-lock.

Plenty of them down here in richmond at CAP. $100. Just a pain to pull unless someone has already taken the rear springs. I have around $500 in mine with disc, detroit and HD cover...so you can find deals on everything...just gott akeep you eyes peeled :D
