Bucket list to explore Black Bear Pass, awesome videos @OwnerCS !

Hit me up on that when you get ready. I think our 100 series are very well suited for that trail. I was very pleased with how effortlessly I was able to drive that trail. I have a tip to share.

The only problem I had was a large number of Jeeps were parked in front of one of the falls that were all trying to take pictures of their Jeep.

There were people standing in and on the side of the road and in the road making it dangerous to drive past the spectacle. LOL.

The trail is ok.

Just look out for all the rented Jeep drivers trying to take selfies at Instagram falls.

I have a video of that that I will post.

I know I sound like a cranky and entitled 100 series owner.

The 4-note Cadillac horns did help to clear the way.

SMH lol oh man that's terrible they had to hog the area I mean I understand they are thrilled.. but... lol anyway that's the difference between doing it for the likes (gram) and doing it for the experience. For sure I'd be thrilled to join you guys. Been watching videos of Black Bear, Imogene and Engineer Pass, etc oh man just watching those makes my heart skip because I know the videos doesn't do justice at all about the place and experience.

Spent the weekend driving to Bend, OR via the Taylor burn road. First couple clips are from that. On Saturday my dad and I tried out the Edison OHV trail between Bend and Sunriver, OR. We got in a little over our heads. What we thought was going to be maybe two hours on the trail turned into four and a half. There were a few sections where we didn’t know if we were going to be able to make it forward or back.

But the 100 series completed everything the trail threw at it. One Jeep guy was surprised because our truck is pretty much stock. I will say that @TRAIL TAILOR ’s rear shock guards and lower control arm skids absolutely paid for themselves and saved our day. Most of the footage is from earlier in the day when we weren’t in a bit of a rush trying to get done before it got dark.

We intend to go back once we install the dissent front bumper and skid plates I have on order.

Got stuck on soft sand, learnt few lessons. A F350 came to rescue!

Btw, don't forget to put a catch rope on traction boards. Fishing them out of 1ft deep sand was difficult. Even hard to find where those buried

Glad you made out ok - this looks exhausting! Curious how much did you air down. Also, doesn't look like A-Trac wasn't up to the task of pulling the trailer on soft sand.

Made few mistakes,
1. should have backed out instead of driving into the softer sand
2. didn't air down, knew that would help, had deflator and pump  - another count of shame
3. forgot to engage low gear at first - no damage or digging holes because of that, just a bit of shame

A-track is no help on soft sand with the trailer IMO. Rear tires dig deep enough holes by the time A-track engages. Do you think A-track didn't engage when it should? A-track worked on the last trip at big bend, that's 6 months ago.

Definitely helps if I had 2 more traction boards, no way to pull the one that got buried under the trailer.

We live and we learn - that is just how it goes. I once tried to drive over a pretty hard obstacle without my center diff locked :slap:. Had to be pulled out by a Jeep CJ until someone pointed out I was spinning only one wheel

When A-Trac comes on, it flashes the ATRAC green light in the dashboard. Also, I haven't tried it, but I wonder if pulling the handbrake would keep the rear wheels from excessively spinning and give fronts a chance to bite?!?

Yeah, I've experienced ATRAC a couple of times. I should test it before the next trip, thanks.
I guess the front does not have enough traction due to load on the rear and angle, not sure. I had center diff locked.

Put the finishing touches on Episode 4 of our "Epic Overland Adventure" from this summer. This is Part 1 of our trip along the RimRocker Trail from Moab, UT to Montrose, CO.

If you're considering running the RimRocker, I'd highly encourage you to do it. it's a fun trail and the scenery is on point.

Enjoy!

What's up y'all! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and is currently in recovery from various states of over-eating :) ... I know I am.

Anyway, I wrapped up the video highlighting the 2nd part of our trip along the Rimrocker trail a few days ago, and thought I'd post it in here.

I'm still new to the whole video creation thing, but have been having a lot of fun with it. I'd also LOVE to hear any feedback (good, bad or ugly) that y'all may have on these videos.

Cheers,
Jeff
