9 days of overlanding with my four year old.

Awesome. What wheels and what size KO2s? Which OME?

Thanks man! I’m running an OME 2.5 inch heavy lift with BFG KO2 285/70r17s on 17 inch Method MR309s.

I’ve got some awesome stuff waiting to be installed on the rig from dissent which will help level the lift off and set everything up nicely.

ToyotaIsLife,

Does a rake help you guys in your environment in the sand? Curious why you set up the trucks that way? For looks or something else?

Absolutely not haha, some of us do it mainly for looks, and some for an aerodynamic advantage when drag racing. Off-roaders prefer a mid shaft lift for good balance of droop and up travel

I love that color, there's one nearby thats for sale and I look at the ad on craigslist everyday contemplating whether I should pull the trigger or not...I just can't justify the rust that's probably coating the bottom. I've yet to go check it out in person but it's a northern vehicle from the start, so the likelihood of a clean undercarriage is slim.
It's SOOOOOO worth waiting to find one without the rust. Mine was a northern vehicle for some of its life, and while the rust isn't nearly as bad as some I've seen here, I've gotten really good at drilling and tapping broken (rusted) bolts.

Took me months to find a clean, southern (for it's whole life) 4Runner as a secondary vehicle but the undercarriage looks virtually new. So much easier to work on...

I agree on this. The undercarriage of this looks miles better than my 2 winter 2016 Sierra. I spent about 5 months looking, and just happened along this one. I just got lucky that it was also the color I most wanted!

Nice rig! What kind of rear bumper are you running? Did you switch out the AHC?

Thanks! PO installed it so I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's a chinese knockoff of a Dobinson. It's alright. Had some issues with the swing-outs and latches when I bought it, but I think both of those stem from the PO's incompetence setting it up in the first place... It gets the job done though. Held up well getting beat up on the trails and so far has done a great job towing.

I'm planning on running the AHC until it dies. Don't have the money to upgrade at the moment. haha
