Well I am doing my part to stimulate the economy and am picking up this beauty on saturday.

1993 boston whaler 16SL, 75 merc

Had a 13' years ago and have always wanted another whaler.

The local lakes will never be the same:D:steer:

I'll second that! Boston Whaler is my favorite boat (love the tri-hull!) A close second is the "Carolina Skiff," which is excellent for shallow sounds of NC.

Thanks for stimulating the economy this week! I took care of last week with my new FJC purchase! Looks like Marshall will have to pony up next week.

If BW's are the Land Cruiser of boats then that model would be an FJ45LV.

Never seen a 16SL before. Kinda looks like a pre-cursor to the newer Ventura line. Like a DC Dauntless. Nice rare find.

they only made them from 91-94- it was what the whaler guys refer to as the Reebok era, as that is who owned them at the time. They were almost 25k back in 93 so were a marketing flop and the purists dont like the v hull. Personally I dig it

Nice, I concur about the BW - a real cult following. I just bought a 20' Hurricane w/Yamaha 150 four stroke.

Now the quest for water.

Those hurricanes look sweet. I had to look them up to see what they looked like. Which 20 did you get? It seems there are a lot of choices.

GS 201 Fun Deck -
Hopefully I will be on the IC Waterway Sunday - Tuesday.

Wet ride

Oh that's going to be sooooo nice at the boil this year!! You are bringing it we hope. Congrats nice BW.

Ok, so I just got back from a 1000 mile round trip. Left WNc at 4am, got to Jax at noon. Pull into driveway of boat owner and this !#$^$ is a total wreck, corrosion everywhere, cracks in the actual hull, motor barely ran. Needless to say I told the guy to stick it. I dont what peoples definition of excellent condition is but it was all I could do to blow up. I just said no thanks and drove home. The saving grace is my 10 year old daughter came with me and we had a blast hanging out, so the day was somewhat salvaged. Sorry Doc, my phone charger died and didnt get your call till I got home about half hour ago. Going to look at another whaler and hopefully lock in a good fathers day.

astardB! I hate when that happens. That seller should be strung up for not disclosing details. There is probably a better deal out there anyway.

Found the better deal- not a better price- but we all know you cant base quality on price. Just got the Bimini installed and am heading to the lake this weekend. Will post pics when I get them.

Cool, cant wait to see it.

Nice...meet us at URE this weekend Sun-Wed. I will have the boat on Badin Lake Monday and Tuesday. Nice lake and plenty of room to play.

wish I could- have family coming into town- how far is Badin from asheville?

That boat is awesome! Congrats!

Any pinstripes on that rig yet?

About 140miles. Check out Lake Lure on 74 east of Asheville about 25miles.

If you hit lake lure let me know. i live only a few miles from there and would like to come check out the boat....
