Man, that sounds like it's going to be super versatile.

I hope so, Pretty much finished except for the doo-dads:

Added some turtles to the uprights for a personal touch:

Out of curiosity, is there a metalworking reason to go with square tube over round? Easier to do joints without needing a tube notching jig of some type? Having never welded anything like this seems that would be an obvious advantage anyway.

joints are easier with square, yes, but I have a square tube bender and not a round so that is the main reason.

1" square tube is also cheaper and easier to find than 1" round too.

you can use conduit but I don't like welding or grinding galvanized metal.

edit: bolting stuff onto a square rack is much simpler too, just drill and insert nutsert and you are good to go.

Cool, makes sense. Just was curious having never done anything like that myself.

Dig the turtles on Godwin's uprights. That is a cool touch.

A maximum of 8. Can you set it up so that they'd be partitioned into groups of 2?

Wow  I was expecting 2 or 3 - 8 won't fit side by side - the rack is 50" between the rails and the scepter cans are 7" wide...

So 7 max side by side, or two rows of 4, but that would be 330+ lbs full extra not counting the rack if my math is correct.

what do you think about this idea:

a 40 x 30 1/2 ply box with 4 equal partitions would hold 8 cans grouped by standing on their sides and could hold 4 cans lying flat.

the cans are 18.5X14X7" each

Let's just drop this from the design, I'd kinda overlooked the weight issue. When I decide to carry any cans on rack the the box idea looks like a good way to do it.

Hey, I made you a turtle too, but you can only see the head right now. Is that cool?

mounting plates installed, removable crossbars, yakima bar hold downs - It would be finished if my drill hadn't broken in the middle of the night.

BTW, I am the worst estimator of project time ever. I thought this was going to be a one, maybe two night project.

If I was eating at the Summit, I would go to Urban Cookhouse.

http://urbancookhouse.com/

We use the freshest ingredients available with an emphasis on supporting the local farmer. We not only buy local produce for use in our kitchen, but we also sponsor and manage the Homewood and Summit Farmer's Markets.

that was easy.

Thank you Matt!

I luv me some Izzo's over there too.

Expensive for a burger but Flip has some pretty good burgers

Ima be honest wid jew. I don't consider flip a burger joint more than ambrosia! Cause the gods eat that stuff! I always get the sampler because I just can't decide!
