Roads in general around here leave much to be desired. That connection between 78 and 65 could be knocked out in a month if they had their shtick together...

Likely sent from the bathroom stall using IH8MUD

I really need to stay out of the 40 section.

This guy is restoring a FJ47 in PNG that he found out in the jungle. Unreal. I will never again complain about trouble finding parts or a lack of garage space again. Keep the pics coming, Chad!

any of yall know anything about driving in snow?
I am looking at getting to use a friends cabin in CO, in march, he says ill have to snow mobile the last mile... he expects 3-5 feet of snow at the time. County plows the road up to a mile from his house. the last mile is the only thing he thinks will be an issue.

can I do it? 33" BFG ATs ARB... open diffs...

I have done some snow wheeling..
I'd say don't try it..
How far up do you have to get till you are at thr sni e mobiling point?
Sounds like you are one winch burn up from total death to me.

so... what yall are saying is, I need to get a locker and bigger tires...

nope, tire chains if anything.

I spent a month driving around New Mexico in January in a Wrangler and it snowed about half the time. I bought chains in Abq on a whim and was glad I did one morning in Taos when we woke up buried in snow. The jeep was not moving anywhere but backwards and down toward the edge of the mountain. Put the chains on and drove away like it was dry concrete. I still don't think you are driving through 3-5' though.

he says county plows up to his drive way.
then its 1 mile to the cabin. so its only the last mile in question.

I have only ever driven in inches of snow... never feet.

I am shopping for tire chains right now actually...

If I dont make it, I should be able to back out right? unless I drive off in the ditch and get regular stuck, not just "i cant plow through anymore snow" stuck or am I wrong?

I dont mind walking the last mile... carrying all our groceries in will be a bitch but it wouldnt be the first time I have had to walk up a mountain with a weeks worth of food.

If I were you I'd ask in a 4x4 forum where folks get a lot of snow.

Off the cuff though, I'm going with a mile of fresh snow of 3-5' being impassible without a plow blade of some sort and chains.

If you try, we'll get an over under going for how far in the stuck point is. :bounce:

I went to app state and am familiar with snow. Snow is not bad it's ice that is your problem.

Momentum is the key and downshifting to slow rather than braking is important. Chains would be a solid choice although I've never used them.

Really depends on the depth of the snow. If its up to the bumper you are going to have problems. If below it really is about momentum and slow and steady is key.

I'd trust him on the snowmobile thing and be prepared to dig your truck out after a week sitting at the bottom of his driveway.

Besides, why would you NOT want to drive his snowmobile?!

Hey guys, I figured I'd post up here again since I'm heading back down to school (BSC) at the end of the month. Most likely not playing lacrosse this year, which means I should have a lot more open weekends to wheel and meet up with ya'll. Hope to ride with you guys soon.

Cool welcome aboard. We are changing up our meeting schedule in the near future but it will be posted up.

does anyone have experience with home security cameras?
what to look for/what to avoid?
I dont want something that records 24/7 I would really like something motion activated, that way I use less storage space and dont have so much to sort through in the event I need to look for something.
