Fxxx, I really need to learn how to read the fxxxing gas gauge. 1/8th of tank on the needle should mean I I can drive that last fxxxing mile to home and not walk. GRRR.

Hey ND watcha doing later

That is sweet! I have not driven a VW since I totalled out my Baja. I would love to take it for a spin. (I will stay out of canals and ditches) My old Baja was drawn naturally to things like that, I miss that car. I could get air on 1st and 2nd but it was the "air" I got in 4th that did it in.:crybaby:

 the walk was great! I love walking! In the sun... In work clothes... Laptop and all. Hehe.

Anywho. Nd my hero helped get her home.

Thanks nd! I owe you.... Again.

the last time i drove my bus (more than around the driveway) i ran out and walked from blackwell interchange to scenic ave before i got a ride. even though i was walking with a gas can, three cops drove by. . .

ironically the trip was to buy kerosene .

Word! Anytime brother!! Now you know to go to my place first and get the full gas can I always have! MUCH CLOSER!!!!

As all things go, one thing led to another. My air filter was pretty bad and went to replace it. Of course I walked out with a taller version thinking why not..... which led to not thinking about the deck height. Naturally tossed it on and set the deck down and won't close :/ Took a sec to realize my issue was.

So contemplating my choices I decided heck why not I kinda like the looks of the raised deck. Ran down to the hardware store and found some longer bolts, washers and couple larger 1.5" long couplings.

To my surprise it worked out perfect. I like the height, the deck closes and locks into place AND can release it..... and its mostly straight and clears the new f'n filter ;)

I think it added 53hp as well, but hard to tell since I haven't actually driving w/ the mod yet.

I would think opening up the deck would do nothing except let bugs into the engine compartment...?:meh:

Can't really aid any in the cooling department since it's a forced air system anyhow.

You just gotta mess with it huh Ty...! :flipoff2:

Or does the temp go down 5 degrees when you hit 130mph+.......??

But please Chris enlighten me other than "bugs" will get in. :flipoff2::hillbilly:

Worst mistake of my life.... (ok not really)

but started waxing the stupid thing.... looks great! but now I have to do the whole thing!!!! :bang:

Oh you made a clean spot huh?? I know how that goes! My Baja had a 2020cc and an 8 pass oil cooler and a higher volume/pressure oil pump. The cooler definitely helped. I wasted a lot of money on that thing but it was spooky quick. No more mods Ty. You're going to get all tweeked out before you know it! :D

Thanks Kief! ;)

Your welcome! How many years before the little miss starts driving?

12yrs. ;) and on the way home she said we should paint it purple.

The 4r pulled it great, didn't even notice the 1800# behind it.

Although she still thinks I need a yellow taxi for some reason. I should be scared.

Quick background. Kief found this '68 KG autostick for way to good of deal. He gave me a buzz. We negotiated  and I stole it from him. All kidding aside I'm pretty excited about the whole deal and he really did give me a beyond great deal on it.

She needs help for sure. Rusty, but very straight and very original. Was running good until I touched it. Need to look into that in the moring with more light.

autostick

Holy s***e!!

I had one of those in a bug. '70 if I recall.

About once a month I would burn out a torque converter.

I could change it out in about 1/2 an hour after doing it several times.

Terrible design.

I've always liked the KG though.
