After owning 2 100's over the past 6 years as my wife's dd I've finally decided to do a mild build. It's an '07 with 125000 on the ol' clock. I'm doing this thread for more guidance than documentation so any 100 knowledge is greatly appreciated. Things I'm trying to decide on are possibly the AHC hack for permanent lift, single drawer rear storage to mount a fridge I picked up recently and possible options for a roof rack after I remove the factory one. I had the timing belt done as soon as we got it a couple years ago but with my infinite stupidity I neglected to do the camshaft seals now one is weeping. I've read that the seals on the '07 are not as difficult to get to as the earlier ones but am not sure about that. Other than that it's been well baselined. It still the 285 Nitto terra grapplers that were on it when we bought it. They have worn very well and still have life left but I'm thinking of swapping to a 16" wheel so I can go up to a 295/70. I think that's the max on the 16" wheel? Besides baselining and maintenance only thing I've done so far was remove the running boards. Like I said I'm not new to the 100, just a 100 build so any info is greatly appreciated.

I don't have AHC, so I can't speak to it... I take it you aren't looking to go up Daniel, but rather venture to Hurricane Creek and Richland Road? If I were building for that purpose, I'd probably keep the AHC (rather than lift), add drawers, and figure a way to relocate the spare. I don't know that a swingout carrier is worth the cost - I find it to be a hassle. Can't go wrong with sliders. Keep your front bumper. A-Trac is good enough for overlanding. Not much to do, really... Enjoy the smooth cush ride!

Don't forget KM2's still come in tall skinnies. 255/85R16. :hillbilly:

Awesome!!

Drawers for sure, maybe a fridge and an interior tire carrier?

Picked up the fridge and slide a couple weeks ago. I just have it strapped in the Tacoma right now. The plan is to build a single drawer for both the Tacoma and the 100 then swap the fridge back and forth as needed.

Good thread, subscribed! Nice looking 100. I have always liked white.

I have always run 295/75s on my 100 with 16 inch wheels and no issues. I like the stance with this combo.

So you're the one who got that Engel!! Nice score!

Yeah that was me! I also got those ARB step sliders for the 60 but I can't bring myself to put them on. I haven't checked yet to see what it would take but I'm toying with the idea of working them up to fit the 100.

Spent the past 3 days in my hometown in West Virginia visiting family, while I was there I did manage to get out wheeling a couple times and fishing once. This was the first time wheeling the 100 and I have to say I was pleased with it. I didn't do anything crazy with it but did go up a few long, steep climbs which it handled great. The trails in WV are really tight this time of year and the 100 really swallowed them up but it was still a good time.

On the way up, everybody needs a windshield monkey

Nice trails! Whereabouts in WVA was this? Always looking for a road trip.....

It's in the southwestern most part, coal country. It's very remote and can be super sketchy, I would not recommend going alone or even with a couple other trucks without someone who knows the area very well. The good news is the whole state is like this and ready to be explored. I grew up there and still have to be extra careful because there are literally 1000's of trails that are not maintained in anyway. There have been a few times where ive had to back off a mountain side due to the trail being totally washed off the side of a mountain.

Roger that, say no more, I understand as I have the same reaction when someone tells me they are going to Puerto Rico on vacation. "What, you nuts? You dont have enough insurance, ransom pay money, or body armor!"

Have you heard of this guys and the routes they sell? I have been tempted to buy some to see where they go.

Route I - Morgantown to Frost

LOL!! That's exactly the feeling! its such an awesome place but I've always been very cautious in telling people about it because you can get into some Camel Trophy type wheeling and situations very quick. Iv e never heard of the guy selling the maps, I know Morgantown is way up north and I am not at all familiar with that area. I always stay in the southern part of the state.
