Here's a nice picture of the reason we often can't help each other with regard to fuel systems, rotary injection pump versus inline:
dieselpumps.JPG

lets see, i see a fuel ine in through a water seperator and filter, line into the pump and lines from there to the injectors and a return line...
i don't really see that much of a difference. the design is different but the fuel flow is the same...
someone correct me, please
cheers

i can't correct you Wayne, there are design differences but for the most part the fuel flow is the same.

Moose, make up a detailed list of fuel questions and I'll do my best to answer them real soon. I'm in bed for the next several days recovering from surgery so the computer is my only connection with the outside world.... I'm going to be a little delayed on the tach/instrument cluster as well (I apologize, i can't walk right now...)

There are some differences that have come up and have added to my databank. Also, the attached diagram does not fully show the difference between the 3B and 3BII or 13BT.

The 3B does not have a return line to the fuel tank. It does have a scavaging line to the injection pump.

The 13BT does have a return like to the fuel tank, like the 3BII, though the 13BT is inline and the 3BII is rotory.

The 3B has a seperate fuel filter and fuel sedimenter, as does the 13BT, like the picture above.

The 3BII has a combined fuel filter and sedimenter.

While the principles are pretty much the same, there are enough differences to throw a kink into internet troubleshooting if one is not aware of them, as I was not.

Mike: Wishing you a speedy recovery.

If your doc prescribed you Tylenol #3 or any other opiods, don't forget a good bowel protocol (usually docusate and Sennokot), or you may get backed up especially if you're not moving around much. I know, not the greatest subject to talk about but one of those often overlooked things that can cause more inconvenience in your recovery. Cheers.

Damn, Did I just here Tylenol 3????

If you have any more left, I can be there in about 20 hours, unless I drive my cruiser! LOL

Also wishing you a speedy recovery Mike!
